Explosion at magnet manufacturing company, 12 people injured

This afternoon (May 21), the People's Committee of Nui Thanh district (Quang Nam) announced that an explosion had just occurred at SGI Vina Company specializing in the production of Nd-Fe-B permanent magnets (located in Bac Chu Lai Industrial Park, Tam Hiep commune, Nui Thanh district), causing 12 people to be burned and injured.

Initial information, the explosion occurred at around 9:30 am the same day at SGI Vina Company in Bac Chu Lai Industrial Park. Immediately after receiving the information, Tam Hiep Commune Police, Nui Thanh District quickly mobilized maximum forces to be present at the scene of the explosion to protect the scene and participate in rescue work.

An injured worker is being treated in hospital.

The explosion left 12 people burned and injured and taken to Quang Nam Central General Hospital for treatment.

Authorities are determining the cause of the explosion and calculating specific property damage.
