The Co Luong – Na He route in Dong Dang commune has now been concreted, helping people travel and transport agricultural products more conveniently. This spacious road is thanks to the joint efforts of the people, including Mrs. Lang Thi Gioi’s household in Na Pan village.
Mrs. Gioi shared: For farmers like me, land is the biggest asset. But seeing people having difficulty traveling, and no one buying agricultural products because of bad roads, I was very worried. Thinking that having a convenient road would improve our lives, in May 2023, when the commune had a policy to expand the Co Luong - Na He road, my family voluntarily donated 2,300 square meters of land to build the road. Now the road is clean and beautiful, and trade is convenient, I feel very happy and proud.
In Dinh Lap commune, the movement of farmers contributing to the construction of new rural areas is taking place vigorously. Mr. Nong Van Thang, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, Chairman of the Commune Farmers' Association, said: From 2023 to now, the Farmers' Association has built 5 models of "Green - clean - beautiful, environmentally friendly villages and hamlets"; 8/26 villages and hamlets maintain the models of "Farmers participating in environmental protection", "Clean houses - beautiful alleys, clean houses - beautiful gardens", village roads and alleys are regularly swept, there is no more littering... Thanks to that, the appearance of the countryside is increasingly improving, the roads are clean and beautiful, the spirit of solidarity and community awareness is widely spread.
In other communes across the province, the movement to build new rural areas was also enthusiastically responded to by HVND, creating meaningful and practical works.
Mr. Bui Van Coi, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association, said: We have identified that building a new rural area is one of the key and continuous tasks of the association, and in which the Farmers' Association is the subject and the center in this process. The associations at all levels have focused on innovating the content and methods of operation; focusing on propaganda and mobilizing members to promote internal strength and proactively implement the new rural criteria, especially those that require a lot of people's cooperation such as transportation, environment, culture, etc.
Accordingly, in recent times, the association at all levels has promoted propaganda and raised awareness of building new rural areas to the HVND. Through branch meetings, discussions and communication activities on mass media, the awareness and actions of members have increasingly changed positively. If in the past, there were still households that were hesitant and waited for support from the State, now, members have proactively contributed their efforts and money, discussed and agreed on common matters of the village and residential area. From 2020 to now, the HVND of the province has donated more than 155,300 m2 of land; contributed nearly 460,000 working days and over 16 billion VND to build schools, village cultural houses, build rural roads, canals, irrigation works, etc.
Not only unanimously developing infrastructure, HVND also proactively participates in implementing environmental criteria. The association levels have organized many models and activities such as: collecting agricultural waste, household waste; farmers protecting the environment... Specifically, HVND organizes waste collection, sweeping village roads and alleys every week, proactively moving barns away from residential areas... contributing to helping the landscape and rural environment always be bright, green, clean and beautiful. The application of information technology in propaganda is also strongly promoted. The electronic information page of the provincial HVND has posted over 300 articles, attracting more than 150,000 visits (including many news and articles on environmental protection). Thereby, contributing to strongly spreading the movement in HVND, encouraging the spirit and responsibility of members in building new rural areas. Currently, the whole province has nearly 1,900 farmer models participating in environmental protection, an increase of about 1,000 models compared to 2022, becoming one of the mass organizations with the largest number of models.
In addition, HVND also unanimously implemented other criteria in building new rural areas and achieved many remarkable results such as: being exemplary in implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; over 90% of member households achieved the title of "Cultural Family"; 100% of agricultural production and business households registered to ensure food safety and hygiene achieved and were recognized...
The practical work of the People's Committees at all levels has contributed to the increasingly prosperous new rural construction movement of the province. From 2021 to June 2025, the whole province had 44 more communes meeting the new rural standards, including 20 communes in Region III of ethnic minority and mountainous areas, bringing the total number of communes meeting the new rural standards to 106/175 communes (accounting for 60.6%).
