On the first Sunday morning of May 2023, Yet Kieu swimming pool at Kien Giang Children's House, Rach Gia City was busier than usual. Parking and ticket checkers were working non-stop.

While waiting in line to buy tickets to the swimming pool, Ms. Ngo Thi Tuyet Nuong, Vinh Thanh Van ward, Rach Gia city, turned to us and shared: "The weather is hot these days, my child likes to swim, so I took advantage of the weekend to take my child swimming to both exercise and equip him with life skills."

According to Mr. Pham Minh Trung, a swimming instructor at Yet Kieu swimming pool, since April 2023, the number of customers coming to swim and registering for swimming lessons has increased compared to previous months. Yet Kieu swimming pool has 3 pools, the size and water level of each pool is designed to suit each age of customers and students. Ticket prices range from 10,000 - 15,000 VND/person. The swimming pool also has a life jacket and swimming float rental service for 5,000 VND/piece.

Mr. Trung added: “Previously, on average, there were 30-40 visitors to the swimming pool every day, now the number of visitors has increased 2-3 times. Swimming classes have increased from 2 to 3 classes; from 2 to 3 swimming lessons per day. Students learning to swim are from 7-45 years old, of which students from 7-15 years old account for the majority. Most children come to the swimming pool mainly to cool off, often they do not know how to swim, so parents should spend time teaching or encouraging children to learn to swim to prevent drowning."

Mr. Phan Anh, living on Thien Ho Duong Street, An Binh Ward, Rach Gia City, said: “My child is comfortable with water and loves swimming, so I am less worried. The school year has not ended yet, so I registered my child for a swimming course on the weekend, helping him swim well without affecting his studies.”

Mr. Ly Chi Truong, manager of the swimming pool area of Saigon Rach Gia Hotel (An Hoa Ward, Rach Gia City) said: "At this time, the number of guests coming to the swimming pool has doubled, with up to 100 people swimming at the same time each day. The customers are mainly children brought to the pool by their parents to play and learn to swim."

To better serve customers, the swimming pool has invested in upgrading its facilities, fully equipped with water filtration systems, changing rooms, bathrooms, fast food areas, and lifeguards on duty at the pool.
