(KGO) - Athlete Vo Thao Vy of Kien Giang won a gold medal at the 2025 National Youth Athletics Championship in the women's 100m hurdles, breaking the national record.

Vo Thao Vy of Kien Giang won the gold medal and broke the national record in the women's 100m hurdles.

On June 22, Kien Giang Sports Training and Competition Center announced that at the 2025 National Youth Athletics Championship taking place in Lai Chau province, athlete Vo Thao Vy of Kien Giang won the gold medal in the women's 100m hurdles with a time of 14.34 seconds, breaking the national record.

The 2025 National Youth Athletics Championship is organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lai Chau province in coordination with the Vietnam Sports Administration and the Vietnam Athletics Federation.

The tournament gathered 65 delegations of athletes from 63 provinces, cities and sectors, with over 900 athletes participating; competing for medals in running, high jump, long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus throw, javelin throw, walking... in 3 age groups 2012-2013, 2010-2011 and 2008-2009.
