Vietnam MMA delegation attends the 2025 Asian Mixed Martial Arts Youth Championship

On August 26, the Vietnam Mixed Martial Arts Federation (VMMAF) announced that it had just sent a delegation of athletes to participate in the 2025 Asian Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Youth Championship, taking place from August 27-31, in Manama, Bahrain.

This is the first continental youth championship organized by the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Association (AMMA), under the recognition of the Olympic Committee of Asia (OCA).

The Vietnamese delegation attended with 8 members (including 3 coaches and 4 athletes), led by Ms. Tong Thi Ngoc Hoa, Deputy Secretary General and Chief of Office of the Vietnam Mixed Martial Arts Federation.

This tournament is held in two formats: modern MMA (using sportswear ) and traditional MMA (using martial arts uniforms). The athletes participating in the tournament include: Nguyen Dinh Huy (65kg men), traditional MMA; Lang Quoc Cuong (55kg men), Vuong Tri Hai (50kg men) and Trieu Thu Thuy (45kg women) modern MMA.

Deputy Secretary General and Chief of Office of the Vietnam Mixed Martial Arts Federation Tong Thi Ngoc Hoa shared: The Vietnam Mixed Martial Arts Federation has participated in the activities of the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Association since its inception. In 2023, at the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Championship, a delegation of 4 Vietnamese athletes was sent to compete and all won medals (1 Gold medal, 1 Silver medal, 2 Bronze medals), ranking 4th overall out of 19 participating countries and territories. At this tournament, Vietnamese athletes aim to win at least 1 medal.

The 2025 Asian Mixed Martial Arts Youth Championship is part of the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Association’s regional MMA development program. Along with this tournament, the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Association will also organize a mixed martial arts referee and coach development program from August 25-27.

The Vietnam Mixed Martial Arts Federation sent two coaches and two referees to participate with the aim of improving professional qualifications and integrating with international and regional trends./.
