The project to restore and renovate Huu Bang communal house in Tay Phuong commune commenced on July 24, 2023, and has now basically completed the following items: the main hall, the left and right wings, the garden and auxiliary systems, and some other items.
On May 14, 2025, several residents of Huu Bang village submitted a petition and complaints regarding the restoration and renovation of Huu Bang communal house. The petition highlighted issues such as: the foundation and courtyard of the communal house were not leveled, and the replacement of the sacred animals on the roof eaves and eaves was not done according to their original state...
After reviewing and comparing the documents and the actual construction, the Project Management Board for Investment and Infrastructure of the commune affirmed that the above-mentioned complaint is untrue; the restoration work was carried out in accordance with the design documents and the technical procedures for preserving the historical site.

Representatives from the consulting and supervisory unit also provided detailed explanations regarding the technical issues raised in the petition. According to the design documents and the current state of the monument, the total number of animal and spirit animal components of the temple is 47, of which 4 components were preserved, restored, and reassembled in their original state; 43 components were restored to their original condition because most were chipped, missing parts, or completely damaged.
The original, important elements of the communal house, such as the column system, beams, rafters, purlins, and wooden roof trusses with distinctive architectural patterns, have been preserved, with only minor restorations to ensure maximum preservation of their original value. Because the existing wooden frame structure has been preserved, there are no discrepancies in dimensions or architectural proportions.

Representatives from the Community Monitoring Board of the historical site also raised some concerns about the construction process and expressed their hope that relevant agencies would continue to pay attention and provide guidance to ensure the project is completed on schedule and in accordance with the standards for historical site preservation.
At the conference, Professor, Dr. Tran Lam Bien, a cultural heritage researcher, and Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Van Bai, an expert in the field of cultural heritage preservation, presented scientifically sound conclusions regarding the Huu Bang communal house relic.
Experts affirm that the restoration and renovation of Huu Bang communal house is being carried out in accordance with conservation principles, ensuring the preservation of original elements and the inheritance of the historical, artistic, and spiritual values of the monument. All restoration and replacement work is based on scientific surveys and research, ensuring the authenticity and traditional value of the structure.
According to Dr. Nguyen Minh Khang, Head of the Relic Management Department, Cultural Heritage Administration (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), the restoration and preservation of relics must prioritize the preservation of their original value and spiritual significance. Simultaneously, it is necessary to enhance transparency, timely information dissemination to the public to foster consensus, and promote the community's supervisory role.
Pham Thi Lan Anh, Head of the Heritage Management Department ( Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports), affirmed that the project to restore and renovate Huu Bang communal house has been implemented according to the correct procedures and regulations of the Law on Cultural Heritage, ensuring the principles of preservation, inheritance, and promotion of cultural values. Head of the Heritage Management Department Pham Thi Lan Anh requested the Tay Phuong Commune People's Committee, the Commune's Investment and Infrastructure Project Management Board, and the construction units to continue adhering closely to the design documents, preserving the original elements as much as possible, and coordinating closely with the local community during the completion of the project.
According to Can Van Huong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tay Phuong commune, the locality will continue to coordinate with specialized agencies to implement the project, ensuring that the construction meets quality standards, complies with regulations, preserves traditional cultural values, and fulfills the expectations of the people of Huu Bang village in particular and Tay Phuong commune in general.
