From the "Great Unity" houses...

On the morning of December 12, 2025, the atmosphere in Ngoc Tao 7 and Lien Hiep 4 villages was more vibrant than usual. The first strokes of the hoe marking the start of construction of two "Great Solidarity" houses for the families of Ms. Vu Thi Hong and Mr. Dinh Trong Duc opened up hope for a stable and secure life after many years of struggling in dilapidated houses. This is a practical activity of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hat Mon commune to celebrate the successful conclusion of the 18th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hanoi City, term 2025-2030.

At the ceremony, two delegations from the commune attended, demonstrating the close attention of the Party Committee, government, and Fatherland Front to the lives of the people. The first delegation was led by Comrade Duong Chi Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the Commune Party Committee; the second delegation was led by Comrade Kieu Thi Kim Dung, Member of the Standing Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune. The presence of representatives from the Party branches, village heads, the Fatherland Front Working Committee, and a large number of people from the two villages created a warm and affectionate atmosphere, in line with the spirit of "great unity" that the program aimed for.

According to the plan, each household will receive 70 million VND to build a new house, of which 50 million VND will be drawn from the "For the Poor" Fund of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City and 20 million VND from the "For the Poor" Fund of Hat Mon commune. Although this is not the entire construction cost, it is an important resource that helps families have more opportunities to turn their dream of a sturdy home into reality.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, the commune leaders emphasized that building "Great Solidarity" houses is not merely about providing material support, but also carries profound political and social significance, demonstrating the concern of the Party, the State, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front for households facing housing difficulties. They requested that the Village Front Committee closely coordinate with the construction unit, supervise the construction process, and ensure the project meets quality and safety standards and is completed on schedule for early handover to the families.

Overwhelmed with emotion on the groundbreaking day, representatives from the two families could not hide their joy and gratitude. For them, the new house is not just a place to shelter from the sun and rain, but also a source of spiritual support, helping the family to work and produce with peace of mind, gradually stabilizing their lives. Tears of emotion mixed with radiant smiles from the people spoke volumes about the profound humanitarian significance of the program.

A bridge of love, inspiring the will to strive for success.

Beyond just the two "Great Solidarity" houses built on this occasion, caring for the poor and vulnerable has always been a key task of the Fatherland Front of Hat Mon commune. After the administrative unit merger and officially commencing operations in July 2025, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune quickly reorganized its structure, established working regulations, and clearly assigned tasks, ensuring a streamlined and efficient operational apparatus while remaining closely connected to the grassroots.

In 2025, the Fatherland Front of Hat Mon commune implemented many social welfare activities in a coordinated manner, mobilizing the joint efforts of the entire political system and the business community and philanthropists. From the "For the Poor" Fund, the Front distributed hundreds of gifts to policy beneficiary families, poor and near-poor households, and students with difficult circumstances; provided emergency support to households facing risks due to accidents or serious illnesses; and coordinated the construction and repair of many houses for people with particularly difficult circumstances.

Notably, during the year, Hat Mon commune supported the construction of many "Great Solidarity" houses with a total budget of hundreds of millions of VND; at the same time, it connected with social mobilization programs such as "Community Embrace," mobilizing resources from businesses and individuals to help people settle down. Each completed house not only helps solve immediate difficulties but also creates a long-term foundation for households to rise out of poverty sustainably.

Alongside housing support, the Fatherland Front of Hat Mon commune also focuses on solutions to support livelihoods and encourage people to develop family economies. Through patriotic emulation movements and major campaigns such as: "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas," and "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods," the Front has contributed to raising awareness and fostering a spirit of self-reliance and self-improvement among the people.

Many effective production and business models have been introduced and replicated by the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations. Connecting local product consumption and promoting OCOP products through digital platforms and livestream product introductions not only helps people expand their markets but also creates more opportunities to increase income and stabilize their lives.

In particular, the annual "For the Poor" Action Month has become a highlight in Hat Mon commune's social welfare work. Through fundraising and appeals, the commune's "For the Poor" Fund has always received positive responses from officials, Party members, businesses, and people both within and outside the locality. This fund has been and is being used for the right purposes, targeting the right beneficiaries, openly and transparently, creating high consensus within the community.

Besides caring for the material well-being, the Fatherland Front of Hat Mon commune also focuses on strengthening the spiritual life and building national unity. Activities such as the "National Unity Day," the movement to build bright, green, clean, and beautiful residential areas, and campaigns to promote civilized lifestyles in weddings and funerals have contributed to creating a new look for villages and hamlets, improving the quality of life for the people.

From the "Great Solidarity" houses being built today, the bridging role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in gathering and promoting the solidarity of the entire society is clearly evident. Every joint effort, every act of sharing, contributes to creating a solid foundation so that disadvantaged households not only "receive help" but also "stand up for themselves," gradually escaping poverty and striving for a more stable and sustainable life.

In the coming period, with a strong focus on grassroots initiatives and putting the people at the center, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hat Mon commune will continue to promote social welfare work, mobilize and effectively utilize resources, and better care for vulnerable groups. The spirit of great solidarity and mutual assistance, stemming from concrete actions today, will continue to spread, becoming an important driving force contributing to building Hat Mon commune into an increasingly developed, civilized, and compassionate community.

Not stopping at providing immediate support, the Fatherland Front of Hat Mon commune has clearly defined its long-term goal: creating conditions for disadvantaged households to gradually become self-reliant and improve their lives through their own efforts. By thoroughly understanding the circumstances of each family, the Fatherland Front of the commune, in coordination with its member organizations and the Front Work Committees of the villages, provides advice and guidance on suitable livelihoods, connects them with preferential loan sources, supports access to science and technology, and creates local jobs. Many households, after receiving housing support, have been able to work with peace of mind, develop their family economy, gradually stabilize their lives, and reduce their dependence on social assistance.

The experience in Hat Mon shows that when people have stable housing and their spirits are uplifted, they will have more motivation to overcome difficulties and participate more actively in local movements. It is through these quiet but persistent efforts that the Fatherland Front of the commune has been contributing to strengthening the people's trust, deepening the meaning of national unity, and creating an important foundation for the stable and sustainable development of the locality.
