Vietnamese agricultural products are now available on many supermarket shelves in Europe.

VOV.VN - The Ho Chi Minh City Food and Foodstuff Association said that currently, Vietnamese agricultural products are widely available on supermarket shelves in Europe. This has contributed to increasing the export turnover of agricultural products of Ho Chi Minh City enterprises in the first 8 months of 2024 by more than 24% compared to the same period last year. Ms. Ly Kim Chi, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Food and Foodstuff Association (FFA), said that many months ago, the Association's enterprises had export orders until the end of the year, with goods present in markets of nearly 180 countries and territories.

In particular, after the EVFTA agreement took effect, Vietnamese agricultural products were available on many supermarket shelves in Europe. Export items that grew very well were rice, coffee, pepper, etc., with export turnover of each type increasing from 21.7% to 36.1%.

Over the past 8 months, Ho Chi Minh City businesses' rice exports have grown by 21.7%.

In addition to the advantages of market recovery and effective trade agreements, businesses also face difficulties due to rapid and unpredictable fluctuations in the world , especially changes in shipping schedules. This increases costs and affects delivery times, especially for fresh fruits and vegetables. Along with that, fluctuations in the world affect the supply chain of raw materials, creating great pressure for food and beverage processing businesses because some colors and flavors still have to be imported. Ms. Ly Kim Chi said that in order to closely connect the supply chain and create a stable supply of raw materials for food and beverage processing enterprises for export, from October 9 to 11, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Food and Beverage (F&B) Ingredients Exhibition - Fi Vietnam 2024 will take place. The Ho Chi Minh City Food and Food Association hopes that 150 enterprises from 30 countries and territories present at the exhibition will have specific and feasible cooperation with Vietnamese enterprises: Currently, the issue of quality of food additives is put on top because it is very important. Therefore, the exhibition organizing committee invites suppliers from various countries that meet international standards to come here. Instead of looking for raw materials from many places around the world, the exhibition gathers almost all of them.
