After the death of artist Vu Linh, the cai luong world continued to receive sad news. According to information from the family, People's Artist Diep Lang passed away on the morning of March 11 (California time, USA) after a heart attack.

Artist Diep Lang's relatives sent sad news to artists in Vietnam to bid him farewell. Upon receiving the news, People's Artist Hong Van emotionally shared with the media that Diep Lang was ill and had a poor prognosis, but this was still a great sadness for his family and those who loved him.

People's Artist Diep Lang's real name is Duong Cong Thuan, born in 1941 in Sa Dec. He was born into a family with an artistic tradition, his father was a musician for the Tam Phung opera troupe. Therefore, from a young age he followed the troupe and had the opportunity to learn the profession early.

At the age of 12, Diep Lang officially stepped onto the stage in the play Lap Song Gianh of the Kim Thoa Cai Luong troupe. After that, he joined many other Cai Luong troupes but was only a supporting actor. It was not until he joined the Hoai Dung troupe that he was given the main role in the play Chiec Nhan Kim Cuong. From then on, the name Diep Lang began to become famous.

After 1975, he joined the Saigon II collective opera troupe. He became famous for many plays such as Doi Co Luu, Lan va Diep, Nua doi huong phan, To Anh Nguyet...

In 2003, he was awarded the title of People's Artist, but by this time, Diep Lang had stopped singing. At the end of his life, he moved to the US to settle down and received devoted care from his family. He had suffered from Parkinson's disease for many years.
