Ky Thien Canh as Khoi, Le Be La as Chi in the play "Ghen" - a couple suffering from jealousy
On the evening of May 17, the new play of the Ho Chi Minh City Small Stage Drama Theater titled "Jealousy" was released to the audience. The play was written and directed by Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy, revolving around slices of life about the issue of how to maintain happiness when the wife is too jealous?
Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy has put into the play the message of love - if compared to a dish, jealousy is the spicy spice - difficult to season properly, but without it, the dish will be bland; too much will make it bitter. That is also the spirit that Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy sent in the play.
Actress Nguyen Hong Dao has a charming role, next to Le Be La who is too miserable because of jealousy.
The play raises the issue of protecting marriage in modern married life, where jealousy is no longer a surface war, but a silent clash between love, reason and freedom. The work does not promote jealousy but does not deny it either, as Hanh Thuy herself shared:
"Jealousy is a woman's right, but it must be in the right place and at the right time. Jealousy is not to tie down, but to preserve love with understanding. To preserve it while the other person still feels like they are flying - that is the pinnacle of love."

The cast contributes to the depth of the story with clearly portrayed roles full of humanity: People's Artist My Uyen/Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy as Nga (taking turns) - an experienced wife who learns to be jealous with reason, Bao Trung as Cuong - a husband with a desire for freedom, Minh Thao as Van, Ky Thien Canh as Khoi, Le Be La as Chi, Hong Dao as Le, Quoc Cuong as Trinh Nguyen, Huyen Tran as Thao... Each role has its own place to perform, each personality is exploited and brings many emotions.
Minimalist stage space, simple but profound music - all combine to push the audience's emotions to the extreme. "Jealousy" does not try to conclude who is right or wrong, but at the end of the play opens up a question for the audience to ponder: in love, how can one keep someone while still feeling like themselves?
The play is not only a touching story but also a living message, sent to all those who have gone through the stages of love - holding on - and letting go.
If you don't change your own thinking, the distance will be a deep hole that prevents the lasting love between husband and wife. Watch the play to see that the story that Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy sets out is closely related to each person in life.
