Recently, in the Fashion show "Hanoi Heritage" of the Hanoi Tourism Festival 2025, designer Thuy Le brought the collection "Save the mark of a thousand years" inspired by the historical relic of Thang Long Imperial Citadel.
The program is an artistic journey of telling heritage stories through the Ao Dai - a symbol of Vietnamese culture. The designers have honored the beauty of heritage, landscapes, people and culture of Hanoi in particular, and Vietnam in general, on Ao Dai in many different ways, but they all meet at one point: the love for Ao Dai.

Sharing about the collection "Leaving a thousand years of mark", designer Thuy Le said: "Ao dai has long become an indispensable symbol in Vietnamese culture, expressing the beauty of Vietnamese women. It is not only a costume but also a part of national culture. In the modern context, when the fast fashion trend dominates, ao dai still holds a special place in everyone's heart. The collection "Leaving a thousand years of mark" is inspired by the Thang Long Imperial Citadel relic complex - a precious cultural heritage of Vietnam and a world heritage recognized by UNESCO. From the sophisticated and unique Ly Dynasty motifs in the decorative art of Thang Long Imperial Citadel, I have researched and studied to convey them on ao dai with the desire to spread the beauty of the heritage to the public in the simplest and most familiar way".
Through each design, designer Thuy Le has skillfully combined motifs and patterns such as dragons, phoenixes, lotus flowers with architectural motifs typical of dynasties, unique motifs on the relief at the Kinh Thien Palace. Each motif brought to the ao dai has breathed life into the costume, becoming a bridge between the past and the present and tradition in the contemporary flow. Thereby, contributing to bringing heritage to a new life thanks to the unique and familiar art form of fashion.

Regarding the material, designer Thuy Le uses high-quality 4-way stretch silk, bringing comfort and flattering the wearer's figure. In addition, to create highlights, designer Thuy Le combined silk with thin chiffon attached to the back of the shirt, bringing a light, graceful, and charming look to the designs.
One of the special features of this collection is the sophisticated hand embroidery technique with crystal stones from the artisans who put their heart and soul into every stitch. The accompanying accessories are headpieces, brooches made from mother-of-pearl inlay... highlighting the elegant beauty of women.
Designer Thuy Le has spent nearly 40 years persistently researching and creating Ao Dai fashion. She is a student of designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam and is currently Vice President of the Vietnam Ao Dai Culture Club.
