After being fired, Soares angrily shared with the daily O Globo : "This decision has no contractual basis. It is a purely moral judgment. There is no clause preventing me from making videos ."
She affirmed that she loves futsal very much, but firmly refuses to accept the club's interference in her personal life.
When Soares was still on the payroll of Celemaster Uruguaianense, she earned just $96 a month, barely enough to cover her travel expenses to and from training. But after just four weeks of selling photos on OnlyFans, her income skyrocketed 100-fold, to nearly $10,000.
For Soares, it was this new job that gave her the “freedom and financial stability” she had always craved.
"I was judged, excluded, and felt betrayed, even by other women. But I also achieved freedom and financial independence. Today I feel stronger," she confided.
"It's sad but I leave futsal with a clear conscience," Soares said sadly. "If I had this income from the sport , I would never leave it."
Later on F5, Soares admitted that she had exaggerated the story. But she stressed that her accusation against Celemaster Uruguaianense was partly due to resentment and a desire to be heard.
"I left there injured. They didn't want to pay for the surgery and I had to use money from adult content," the female player revealed.
Soares said her injury occurred during training when she was competing for the ball with a teammate. She also claimed that the club did not support her during the injury, deliberately delaying the scheduling of surgery. And when the club scheduled it, they chose a date when she could not perform it.
Even more sadly, in addition to being opposed by her teammates, her coach and family also did not accept her producing adult content. "They hated me and I couldn't understand why," she shared, choking up.
After Soares' story went viral on social media, F5 also contacted Celemaster Uruguaianense.
The club claimed they were being targeted by fake news from the media and social media users, and insisted no reporters had contacted them to discuss the incident.
Coach Andre Malfussi and club president Auri Guedes Pereira both denied that Soares was kicked out of the team because of his OnlyFans activity. They also said that the decision to leave the team was Soares's own.
Marcela Soares is not the first female athlete to make the transition to adult content. Other notable examples include Madelene Wright (soccer), Paige Spiranac (golf), Kayla Simmons (volleyball) and Mikayla Demaiter (ice hockey).
