Associate Professor Dr. Phan Thi Thanh Thao, President of Chengdu University, has just officially become a member of the Editorial Board of Diglossia magazine of Pesantren Tinggi Darul Ulum Jombang University, Indonesia.
Associate Professor Dr. Phan Thi Thanh Thao, Rector of Thanh Do University, has just officially become a member of the Editorial Board of the journal "Diglossia: Jurnal Kajian Ilmiah Kebahasaan dan Kesusastraan", a prestigious journal on Linguistics and Literature, published by the Faculty of Business, Language and Education of Pesantren Tinggi Darul Ulum Jombang University, Indonesia. The journal is published twice a year, in April and September.
Diglossia is an open access journal, allowing readers to access full-text articles for free under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license (A Creative Commons NonCommercial license is a Creative Commons license that copyright holders can apply to their media to publicly license anyone to reuse that media for non-commercial activities only).
"Diglossia" focuses on publishing theoretical research around issues of language and literature. In the field of linguistics, the journal accepts manuscripts on sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, critical discourse analysis, pragmatics, stylistics, and translation.
For literature, the journal publishes research on literary history, literary theory, literary criticism, and analyses related to texts, films, and other media. Articles can be written in Indonesian or English.
Associate Professor, Dr. Phan Thi Thanh Thao is the first Vietnamese and the only international member to join the Editorial Board of Diglossia Magazine.
Sharing with PV of PNVN newspaper, Associate Professor, Dr. Phan Thi Thanh Thao added that at Kim Chung, Hoai Duc, Hanoi, Thanh Do University has invested in modern information technology infrastructure and put into operation the "Open Science - Education Library", with more than 300 open textbooks on languages, social sciences, business - economics , readers can download or read online for free.
"This project aims to develop a digital platform for open educational resources that allows researchers, lecturers, students of universities nationwide and the public to share and use common resources legally, without being limited by time and space. This is an effort of Thanh Do University in building open educational resources and digital transformation of education, contributing to promoting the lifelong learning needs of the people. Therefore, being an editorial member of this journal is to integrate internationally and demonstrate the school's commitment to promoting the open education project", Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Thanh Thao, President of Thanh Do University emphasized.
Associate Professor, Dr. Phan Thi Thanh Thao also shared that the learning materials are in English, so they are also in line with the Government 's policy of using English as a second language in schools. Furthermore, it is a strategy for developing lifelong learning capacity for learners. This is the core capacity of learners that education needs to help them achieve. It is known that this is the topic that Associate Professor, Dr. Phan Thi Thanh Thao focuses on researching, from her doctoral thesis to future studies.
Thanh Do University is a pioneer in developing the Open Education Project. The school is a Vietnamese member of EASE (European Association of Science Editors, founded in 1982, in France) - free to download copyrighted documents.
Recently, the school also officially became the only Vietnamese member of the Open Education Global (OE Global) network - an international non-profit organization supporting the development and use of open education globally.
OE Global aims to expand access to education, creating opportunities for people around the world to access and contribute; improve the quality and accessibility of education; improve student achievement; promote collaboration and sharing through the co-creation, use, customization, improvement and distribution of educational materials; create innovations in teaching methods based on a culture of online collaboration and interaction; and promote international partnerships and a culture of global engagement in learning, creation, sharing and collaboration.
