On the afternoon of June 3, Cho Ray Hospital (HCMC) announced that doctors had just saved the life of a 32-year-old female patient in a state of severe multiple trauma and severe blood loss shock. This is the female patient in the wall collapse incident caused by a storm in Long An province recently.
Accordingly, at around 3:00 p.m. on June 2, the hospital's emergency department received a patient transferred from a lower level in critical condition. Immediately, doctors quickly resuscitated him, performed paraclinical tests and CT scans.
The results showed that the patient had pneumothorax, right hemothorax, ruptured right liver, suspected right diaphragmatic injury, and fractures of both left tibiae.
After intubation and stabilizing the respiratory and circulatory status, the team performed pleural drainage in the emergency department and transferred the patient to the operating room at 6:00 p.m. the same day.
The emergency surgery lasted until midnight on June 3, with the coordination of four specialties: digestive surgery, hepatobiliary-pancreatic surgery, thoracic surgery, and orthopedics. After the surgery, the patient was closely monitored in the post-operative department.
Currently, the patient's health condition is stable, alert, blood pressure and pulse normal.
Doctors continue to monitor and treat the patient medically. If there are no complications, the patient is expected to be discharged after about a week.
As Tuoi Tre Online reported earlier, at around 1:20 p.m. on June 2, in Thuan Tay 1 Hamlet, Thuan Thanh Commune (Long An Province), an incident occurred that killed two grandmothers and grandchildren and injured one person.
Initial information said that due to heavy rain and thunderstorms, a concrete fence about 4 meters high and a pillar about 8 meters high of a company located next to Ms. L.'s house (58 years old) collapsed towards her house.
At that time, Mrs. L. was holding her granddaughter LDK (1 year old) to get clothes from the collapsed wall and was crushed by the concrete block of the collapsed wall, killing both of them on the spot.
Ms. L's daughter-in-law, Ms. TTHN (32 years old), was also crushed and seriously injured and was taken to the emergency room.
On the same day, the Long An Province Hydrometeorological Station also continuously issued warnings of thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, hail and localized heavy rain in many areas, including Can Giuoc District. The disaster risk warning level is level 1.
