Pham Anh Thu (born in 2006), a child of the land of red phoenix flowers in Hai Phong , possesses a number of extremely impressive achievements: First prize in the National Excellent Student Contest in Literature in 2024, direct admission to the CLC class K74 majoring in Literature Pedagogy, First prize in the City-level Excellent Student Contest in Literature in 2023 - 2024...
In 2024, I was extremely proud to win the First Prize in the National Excellent Student Competition (HSGQG) in Literature. Thanks to this result, I was directly admitted to the High-Quality Class K74 majoring in Literature Pedagogy, opening a new chapter in my learning journey.
Not stopping there, 2024 also marked another memorable achievement. I won the title of Valedictorian in the National Literature Team Exchange Exam, which had the participation of teams from 6 provinces and cities: Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Vinh Phuc, Nam Dinh , Bac Ninh and Phu Tho.
Pham Anh Thu, born in 2006, is a native of the port city of Hoa Phuong Do, Hai Phong City.
I am currently a first-year student in the Faculty of Literature Pedagogy at Hanoi National University of Education. My journey to winning the First Prize in the National High School Examination for Literature can be considered a story of decisions.
Entering the school through direct admission, Anh Thu possesses a series of impressive achievements.
The first big decision was when I put pen to paper on the application form for the entrance exam to Tran Phu High School for the Gifted. Having spent 3 years investing and studying for the French major, the Literature major at that time was like a test for me, and there was absolutely no preparation beforehand. The second big decision, which was probably also the biggest turning point: I “boldly” chose to study the Literature major when I received the news that I was lucky enough to pass both of my initial wishes.
“Perhaps, it was a wrong decision...”. I kept thinking like that throughout my 10th grade years. Because I only passed the Specialized class with the second highest entrance score from the bottom, I had no motivation to study, and also felt helpless when faced with the excellent student questions. I did not understand the format of an exam, the required structure of an essay, the skills of a writer,... and more than that, I was not very “demanding”. All of those points were truly a “horror” for a student in the Specialized Literature class.
It was not until the end of grade 10 that I could consider it a turning point in my journey. My homeroom teacher gave me the opportunity to be on the team participating in the 13th Coastal and Northern Delta Excellent Student Competition - a playground beyond my imagination. But not wanting to disappoint the trust of my teacher and all my friends and relatives, I started everything from zero: learning theory from the beginning, lesson structure, writing skills... In more than 1 month of studying, I went through the competition and luckily won a Bronze Medal. This was a milestone for me to rethink my own learning path, forcing me to "turn" to the initial step that I had chosen: Literature.
Since then, I started reading more and found joy in books. There were some poor papers that needed a lot of correction, but I burned myself out with passion and received the sweet rewards I deserved.
And finally, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the care and support of the teachers who have helped and guided me, and to my mother and sister who have always accompanied me in every step of my life.
I hope my story will bring you joy and hope in life. Thank you readers of the Vietnamese Student Page and Tien Phong Newspaper for listening to me share!
