NVIDIA is making a significant shift in its software ecosystem by phasing out NVIDIA Control Panel, the control tool that has been familiar to graphics card users for over 20 years. Replacing this classic interface is NVIDIA App, a unified platform designed to optimize the user experience across devices using the company's GPUs.

The integration of three key graphics tools.

The new NVIDIA App is not simply a user interface update, but a fundamental change in software architecture. This platform acts as a command center, integrating all the key features from the three previously separate tools:

  • NVIDIA Control Panel: Manages display settings and advanced hardware configurations.
  • GeForce Experience: Optimized gameplay, driver updates, and social features.
  • RTX Experience: Support tools specifically for the RTX graphics card series.

Currently, NVIDIA App is in beta testing. The company's core goal is to create a unified GPU control center, allowing users to easily access and customize graphics card settings without having to switch back and forth between different software programs.

Significant improvements in features and performance.

The NVIDIA App promises to deliver superior performance compared to its predecessors. The application offers a modern, intuitive, and more responsive interface, while also integrating valuable new features for gamers and content creators:

  • In-game overlay: Redesigned to provide smoother system information and recording tools.
  • Advanced Filters: Allows for real-time customization of image quality with the latest AI filters.
  • Quick access: Reduces the time spent adjusting image quality and display settings.

The replacement of the old control panel will take place in stages. Currently, some essential features from the Control Panel have been successfully integrated into the NVIDIA App. In the future, NVIDIA will continue to move all remaining functions to the new application, marking the end of an era for traditional PC control tools.

A vision of a non-fragmented ecosystem.

The decision to discontinue the Control Panel was made to simplify the user experience as much as possible and eliminate software fragmentation. NVIDIA Apps are expected to better meet the growing needs of professional users and gamers, especially in optimizing performance on new generation laptops.

This transition not only brings a more visually appealing interface but also demonstrates NVIDIA's commitment to improving user-hardware interaction. Users can now experience the latest features by participating in the NVIDIA App beta program before the official version is widely released.
