Before that, at 0:00 on July 17, after Long and Tung played video games at a shop on Nguyen Van Troi Street, Mo Lao Ward, Ha Dong, they decided to go steal. The two men walked to the front of the Circle K convenience store on Ao Sen Street, Mo Lao Ward, and discovered an unlocked Honda Wave motorbike. They pushed the motorbike to the Van Khe station waiting area, the elevated railway line, in La Khe Ward. There, Long and Tung picked up a screwdriver and tried to connect the electricity and start the motorbike.
After stealing the car, the subjects returned to Long's house to continue playing video games. At the same time, Long texted Le Van Tuyen to discuss selling the stolen car. Tuyen agreed to buy it for 5.8 million VND, but Long told Tung that he could only sell the car for 1 million VND and give Tung 400,000 VND. As for Tuyen, after buying the car, he removed the license plate and hid it.
Based on the victim's report in the above theft, Ha Dong District Police quickly arrested 3 suspects. At the police station, Long and Tung confessed that from February to July 2023, they had committed 5 motorbike thefts. The locations where the couple stole motorbikes were the Circle K store at 25 Ngo Thi Nham, BT16B5-03 area of the European Overseas Vietnamese Village; Circle K at 12 Ngo Thi Nham and the Swan Gaming game shop on Nguyen Van Troi Street (all in Ha Dong District).
Long sold all of these motorbikes to Tuyen for prices ranging from 4.7 million to 5 million VND. However, Long told Tung that he could only sell the motorbikes for prices ranging from 800 thousand to 1 million VND, so that he could give his friend a smaller amount of money than the actual amount. The case is currently under further investigation.
