Accordingly, the resolution approving the appointment was passed with 91.9% of delegates in favor; 11 delegates opposed; 2 delegates abstained. Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee Dang Quoc Khanh was approved by the National Assembly to be appointed Minister of Natural Resources and Environment for the 2021-2026 term.

It is expected that the new Minister of Natural Resources and Environment will present a report on the draft Law on Water Resources on the afternoon of May 25.

The National Assembly also passed a resolution approving the Prime Minister 's proposal to dismiss Mr. Tran Hong Ha from the position of Minister of Natural Resources and Environment for the 2021-2026 term.

Previously, at the second extraordinary session of the National Assembly in January 2023, Mr. Tran Hong Ha was approved by the National Assembly as Deputy Prime Minister. After that, he concurrently held the position of Minister of Natural Resources and Environment until now.
