Recently, science and technology and innovation in Ca Mau province have been developing in a synchronized and effective manner, making positive contributions to improving productivity, quality of goods and services, enhancing provincial competitiveness, and reforming administrative procedures.

To sustainably develop the aquaculture economy, primarily shrimp farming, the agricultural sector is promoting research and application of science and technology in farming models. Many exemplary farming models, such as whiteleg shrimp farming using Biofloc and Semi-Biofloc processes; 2- and 3-stage shrimp farming; and closed-loop recirculating aquaculture systems, have been implemented and have proven effective.

Mr. Pham Van Muoi, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, shared: "In recent years, Ca Mau has applied many achievements in biotechnology to the selection of plant and animal breeds and the development of production and cultivation processes suitable to the local natural conditions... Thereby, increasing productivity, economic efficiency, and improving people's income."

The quality of breeding stock has been improved; native poultry breeds have been restored; successful tissue culture of forestry plant varieties has been achieved with several hybrid acacia lines (BV32, BV33, AH1, AH7); many new rice varieties have been introduced into production... contributing to improving the productivity and quality of agricultural products in the province.
