Science and technology (S&T) and innovation have become key drivers of socio-economic development. In Ca Mau province, many research, application, and innovation projects have been effectively implemented in recent years, contributing to economic growth, addressing environmental issues, combating climate change, and moving towards green and sustainable development.

Recently, science and technology and innovation in Ca Mau province have been developing in a synchronized and effective manner, making positive contributions to improving productivity, quality of goods and services, enhancing provincial competitiveness, and reforming administrative procedures.

To sustainably develop the aquaculture economy, primarily shrimp farming, the agricultural sector is promoting research and application of science and technology in farming models. Many exemplary farming models, such as whiteleg shrimp farming using Biofloc and Semi-Biofloc processes; 2- and 3-stage shrimp farming; and closed-loop recirculating aquaculture systems, have been implemented and have proven effective.

Application of bone staining procedure in evaluating the impact of environmental factors on the deformity and growth of mud loach (rice field loach) juveniles from Bac Lieu University.

Mr. Pham Van Muoi, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, shared: "In recent years, Ca Mau has applied many achievements in biotechnology to the selection of plant and animal breeds and the development of production and cultivation processes suitable to the local natural conditions... Thereby, increasing productivity, economic efficiency, and improving people's income."

The quality of breeding stock has been improved; native poultry breeds have been restored; successful tissue culture of forestry plant varieties has been achieved with several hybrid acacia lines (BV32, BV33, AH1, AH7); many new rice varieties have been introduced into production... contributing to improving the productivity and quality of agricultural products in the province.

The "Renewable Energy Home" teaching model at Bac Lieu University helps students visually access knowledge related to clean energy.

In the field of education, many innovative teaching ideas have been implemented and widely adopted. A prime example is the "Renewable Energy House" teaching model at Bac Lieu University, which integrates solar, wind, and water energy, helping students visually access knowledge related to clean energy. This model has been popularized in many primary schools in Bac Lieu ward, receiving enthusiastic support from students and teachers.

According to Ms. Pham Tran Thuy Linh, M.A., from the Department of Science Management and External Relations at Bac Lieu University, teaching through the "Renewable Energy House" model helps students observe, understand easily, and stimulates and promotes creativity.

The projects and initiatives of Dr. Le Cong Nha, a teacher at Phan Ngoc Hien Specialized High School, have received positive evaluations and feedback from other schools.

The science and technology innovation movement continues to spread through the initiative "SmartLight POLAR - A device for measuring and analyzing polarized light flux using Industry 4.0 technology for STEM education and real-life applications," developed by Dr. Le Cong Nha, a teacher at Phan Ngoc Hien Specialized High School, along with Le Quang Chanh, a student at Phan Ngoc Hien Specialized High School, and Le Quang Dai, a student at Ngo Quyen Secondary School. The products have high applicability, are easy to manufacture, and effectively serve education as well as the lives of the people.

In the power sector, the solution "Upgrading medium-voltage capacitor banks without protocols for remote control on the SCADA system" by the Bac Lieu Power Management Team, Ca Mau Power Company, has improved the quality of electricity supply, serving socio-economic development as well as the daily lives of the people. Mr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, Deputy Director of Ca Mau Power Company, said: "In 2025, Ca Mau Power Company was recognized by the Southern Power Corporation for 11 initiatives; participating in the province's Science and Technology Innovation Competition, the unit won 1 second prize and 3 consolation prizes. The innovative solutions all have high practical application, contributing to increased labor productivity and ensuring stable and safe electricity supply. In the future, the company will continue to promote the movement of initiatives and technical improvements to effectively achieve the goals of science and technology development and innovation."

However, to achieve this goal, all levels and sectors need to refine policies and effectively mobilize resources, especially those from the private and international sectors, in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and international integration.
