Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai was elected by the Provincial People's Council delegates to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province for the 2021-2026 term with 47/47 delegates present voting unanimously.
On the afternoon of November 11, the People's Council of Ca Mau province, term X, 2021-2026, held the 16th session (special session) to complete the personnel of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
The meeting resolved to dismiss Mr. Huynh Quoc Viet, an alternate member of the Party Central Committee, from his duties as a delegate to the Provincial People's Council and voted to dismiss him from the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province for the 2021-2026 term, because he was previously assigned by the Politburo to join the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term (currently the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee).
At the same time, delegates elected Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, term 2021-2026.
As a result, Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai was elected by the Provincial People's Council delegates to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province for the 2021-2026 term with 47/47 delegates present voting unanimously.
Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Ca Mau province Nguyen Tien Hai congratulated Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai on being elected to the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province for the 2021-2026 term; he believes that in the new position, with his qualities, ethics, qualifications, capacity, political mettle and practical work experience, Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai will continue to promote and excellently complete the assigned tasks.
Speaking at the ceremony to accept the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai pledged to be dedicated, devoted, and strive to complete all assigned tasks, build a united and unified collective, inherit and promote the achievements and results of the province through the periods; lead, direct, and operate in the direction of innovation, creativity, and flexibility in work to create strong and comprehensive changes, contributing to the successful implementation of the goals of the Resolution of the 16th Ca Mau Provincial Party Congress.
Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai, born in 1971 in Luong The Tran commune, Cai Nuoc district, Ca Mau province; qualifications: Master of Economic Law, Bachelor of Law, Senior in political-administrative theory.
Also at the session, the provincial People's Council delegates dismissed Mr. Huynh Ngoc Sang from the position of member of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province; at the same time elected Mr. Pham Chi Hai, Director of the Department of Home Affairs and Mr. Tran Van Trung, Director of the Department of Information and Communications as members of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province for the 2021-2026 term.
The Provincial People's Council delegates passed 4 important reports and draft Resolutions on adjusting the Medium-term Public Investment Plan for the 2021-2025 period and adjusting the Public Investment Plan for 2024; investment policy for the Land Acquisition, Compensation, Support, and Resettlement Project to expand and upgrade Ca Mau Airport; measures to ensure democracy at the grassroots level in Ca Mau province; giving opinions on the rate (%) for calculating land rental prices, the rate (%) for collecting land for underground construction, the rate (%) for collecting land with water surface in Ca Mau province.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Tien Hai, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Ca Mau province, requested Party committees and authorities at all levels to concentrate, work with a spirit of urgency and seriousness, resolutely and synchronously implement the tasks and solutions set out, determined to strive to achieve the highest results in all assigned targets and tasks in the year, contributing to the successful implementation of the consistent goal that the Party Committee, army and people of Ca Mau always aim for, which is to maintain economic growth rate associated with taking the best care of social security issues and environmental protection./.
