"I signed the Music Modernization Act for all of America's artists and Taylor Swift in particular. Joe Biden has never done the same and will never do the same. There is no reason for Swift to support him," Trump posted on his personal social media page on February 11.
The bill Mr. Trump referred to in the article was passed by the US Congress with nearly unanimous bipartisan support in 2018.
"Besides, I quite like her boyfriend, Travis, even though he's probably a liberal and probably not very supportive of me," Mr. Trump added.
Taylor Swift's boyfriend is Travis Kelce, a football player who is currently captain of the Kansas City Chiefs, who won the Super Bowl on February 11. The couple has been a topic of interest on right-wing political forums for months as Swift has urged her fans to exercise their right to vote. Kelce previously appeared in a Pfizer ad campaign urging people to get vaccinated against flu and Covid-19.
Theories have been swirling since January, when commentators speculated that Taylor Swift would likely support Biden, a claim that was not unfounded given the singer’s similar stance during the 2020 election.
However, this story is still just a hypothesis, especially when the rumors are getting further and further, for example "the romance between Swift and Kelce is just made up to attract support for the Democratic Party and vaccines".
