Tieu Minh Phung: A miserable childhood, attracting attention when bringing reformed opera into rap

Sharing with reporters, Tieu Minh Phung said that he started out as a tour guide but because of his passion for art, he decided to change direction. After nearly 10 years of "rolling around" in the profession, he has tried his hand at many different roles, starting with extras, supporting roles...

Growing up on the stage of artist Minh Nhi, Tieu Minh Phung participated in Laughter Across Vietnam 2023. Tet 2024, he appeared in the movie Bright Lights (directed by Hoang Tuan Cuong). With his forte in folk and reformed opera, Tieu Minh Phung boldly moved into rap, attracting attention in Rap Viet season 4.

The singer shared: "Cai luong is a "specialty" of my hometown, associated with my childhood. When trying rap, I also hope that young audiences can know and love this genre."

Few people know that Tieu Minh Phung has a very special situation. His parents divorced when he was young. Tieu Minh Phung lives in a thatched hut built on rented land, single-handedly taking care of his younger brother. Overcoming many difficulties, he grew up with will and determination but never blamed fate.

The singer believes that: "Those difficulties only show me that life is beautiful and I always want to bring the most positive energy to everyone through my music products."

Since Rap Viet 2024 , Tieu Minh Phung has become more well-known, and his life has improved somewhat thanks to more shows. However, he still rents a house and spends money on art projects.

On August 22, Tieu Minh Phung released the MV Footprints on Fire with the participation of nearly 30 artists. The song praises the Vietnam People's Public Security and the soldiers who died for their homeland.

In the near future, the male singer hinted that he will launch a new project in collaboration with Phuong My Chi. Tieu Minh Phung revealed that he and Phuong My Chi have been close for many years. For this project, the male singer spent all his savings, even borrowed money to carry out.
