Together we train the new generation of AI human resources

At the Forum on Developing New Impetus for the Nation: Human Resources for Implementing Resolution 57-NQ/TW organized by FPT Corporation in coordination with ministries, departments, branches and units on the afternoon of May 7 in Hanoi, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FPT Corporation shared a strong message from Resolution 68-NQ/TW of General Secretary To Lam: "Entrepreneurs are soldiers on the economic front".

However, according to Mr. Binh, today's war is no longer a war with military weapons like in the past, but a war of knowledge, technology and especially artificial intelligence (AI) human resources. This is an important event, contributing to the development of human resources to ensure the implementation of Resolution 57-NQ/TW.

Resolution 57-NQ/TW was issued by the Politburo in 2024 with a strategic vision on using science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as important breakthroughs to promote national development in the digital age. One of the core objectives of the Resolution is to develop human resources, especially cadres, civil servants and employees capable of organizing and implementing digital transformation at a national scale.

Mr. Truong Gia Binh emphasized that if in 1945, Vietnam needed universal education so that everyone could read and write, today everyone needs to know how to use technology, especially artificial intelligence, to keep up with the world's development.

"Every Vietnamese student today needs to be equipped with knowledge of technology, AI skills, and the ability to work with international experts," said Mr. Truong Gia Binh.

The Chairman of FPT Group continued to emphasize that the Prime Minister has directed the need to resolutely implement the tasks and solutions that the Party has outlined in the "strategic quartet" including: Science and technology, innovation, national digital transformation (Resolution 57-NQ/TW), international integration (Resolution 59-NQ/TW), law making and enforcement (Resolution 66-NQ/TW), and private economic development (Resolution 68-NQ/TW).

"We must create young generations with knowledge and skills in artificial intelligence, promoting the strength of the whole people - as we did during the resistance war. From the central to local levels, from the government to the youth - everyone needs to innovate together, commit to the development of the nation. The young generation, with technological skills and creative thinking, will be the decisive force to help Vietnam overcome challenges and join the international community," Mr. Truong Gia Binh affirmed.

Warning about falling behind in the global value chain, Mr. Binh said: “If we cannot train AI human resources, we will be left out of the technology game, but if we take the lead in AI training, Vietnam will rise to become a global workforce in this field.”

Mr. Truong Gia Binh called out: “From Uncle Ho’s teaching to General Vo Nguyen Giap to “teach national history” to soldiers, today’s youth also need to be nurtured with patriotism, national pride and belief in the future of advanced Vietnam. Let’s work together to create and train new generations of AI human resources. When the world is worried that AI will take away jobs, Vietnam will rise up and become the center of global technology human resources.”

Suggestions for human resource development for the country

Within the framework of the Forum, a discussion session on strategic human resource development and implementation of Resolution 57-NQ/TW took place, led by Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Group.

Mr. Truong Gia Binh: Need to train the young generation to deploy the

Dr. Le Truong Tung, Chairman of FPT University Council.

The discussion revolved around solutions and strategies to build a team of qualified human resources, ready to contribute to the national digital transformation. The speakers also affirmed that the application of science and technology, AI is not just a trend, but a revolution, especially in the field of education.

To keep up with this trend, Vietnam needs to prepare a workforce with sufficient capacity to carry out the country's important tasks in the context of strong digital transformation. Each individual and each organization needs to clearly understand their role in building the foundation for sustainable development and international integration.

Dr. Le Truong Tung, Chairman of the Board of FPT University, emphasized that in the context of rapid changes in science and technology, education needs to be deeply reformed. The strong "infiltration" of artificial intelligence into various fields will change not only the way of learning but also the goals and content of training programs. This requires educational institutions to reform to provide the young generation with the necessary skills to meet the requirements of the times.

Mr. Truong Gia Binh also shared about the need to create a source of "strategic human resources" - people who not only have solid knowledge but also have the ability to adapt to rapid changes.

Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Thuy, Director of the Private Economic Development Research Board (Board IV) shared that the human factor is the key to effectively connecting businesses and the national economy.

Portrait of "engineer 57"

Also within the framework of the discussion, the speakers agreed to outline the portrait of a new human resource - which can be called "57 engineers". Mr. Binh said that the generation of "57 engineers" will be the new generation of human resources serving the country's new development strategy.

Dr. Le Truong Tung believes that these engineers need not only technological knowledge but also practical skills to participate in the digital transformation process. FPT University has launched a new training program, designed specifically for final and first-year students to prepare them for practical projects.

Ms. Pham Thi Ngoc Thuy proposed three groups of "57 engineers" that need to be trained and developed. The first group is specialized science and technology engineers - those who have a deep understanding of the industry, such as banking, logistics, manufacturing, etc. The second group is smart administrators and managers - who know how to apply data and technology to make decisions and manage modernly. The third group is business analysts (BAs) - connecting processes, data and technology, supporting the restructuring of operating systems.

Mr. Le Thanh Tung, member of the Board of Directors of VietinBank, shared that VietinBank is currently focusing on building a team of human resources with capacity in AI, cloud computing and cybersecurity, which are decisive factors in the digital transformation process in the financial industry. Personnel in the banking industry need to have knowledge of advanced digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing and cybersecurity.

Mr. Truong Gia Binh: Need to train the young generation to deploy the

Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, General Director of FPT Corporation.

Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, General Director of FPT Corporation, made a breakthrough proposal to build a force of "57 engineers", which is:

"Engineer 57" needs to have legal thinking and understanding. Previously, in the business environment, we only did what was beneficial and what the law required. However, we need to train students in depth in legal thinking and public administration standards.

Next is systems design thinking. Previously, we focused on end users, but now we need to broaden our vision to include businesses, citizens, and governments. Systems thinking knowledge needs to be integrated into the curriculum, and schools in the alliance will share technology and training platforms. Graduates will have a solid foundation to be able to innovate.

In the field of science and technology, processes, standards and platforms play an extremely important role. When we build a standardized mindset from the beginning, we will train "57 engineers".

"Teachers can develop a set of criteria so that schools can personalize to suit their students," Mr. Khoa suggested.
