Crystal Palace won the FA Cup for the first time in their history after a 1-0 win over Man City last night at Wembley. However, the focus after the final was on the tense war of words between manager Pep Guardiola and goalkeeper Dean Henderson.

Immediately after the final whistle, instead of quietly walking into the tunnel, coach Guardiola went to confront Henderson, who he said had been "systematically wasting time" from the first minutes. While the English goalkeeper was happily celebrating the victory, Guardiola was clearly annoyed. Neither of them would give in, creating a tense scene in front of the television cameras.

Speaking at a press conference, the Man City coach could not contain his anger: "I can understand the opponent's goalkeeper was wasting time in the final minutes, but this was right from the first minute of the match. It is unacceptable. This is English football, where people always play with the spirit of a knight."

Although admitting that Man City did not lose because of the time-wasting behavior alone, the Spanish coach said that the action ruined the rhythm of the match and caused fans to be "robbed" of a real match. He added: "People come to the stadium to watch football being performed, not to watch the goalkeeper holding the ball and waiting for the clock to run out."

In complete contrast, Dean Henderson refuted coach Guardiola with a rather relaxed attitude. Responding after the match, he shared: "I just wanted to shake his hand, but he seemed unhappy. I told him that he had 10 minutes of extra time as he wanted. So why be angry?".

Goalkeeper Henderson was the hero, making several saves to help Crystal Palace maintain their slim advantage. However, he was lucky to escape a red card after a VAR intervention in a controversial incident. Henderson used his hand to block Haaland outside the box, but the referee did not issue any punishment to the goalkeeper.
