The Little Girl Who Looked at the Rain is a memoir of a large intellectual family set against the backdrop of the upheavals of Vietnamese history throughout most of the 20th century.

Doctor of Literature Tran Ngoc Hieu (Hanoi Pedagogical University) said that looking closely, Associate Professor Dang Thi Hanh has a special aesthetic sensitivity when reading literature.

"Perhaps that makes her not only a researcher but also a literary author with a beautiful autobiography - The Little Girl Looking at the Rain. That autobiography, as well as what she said about the novel Angel, carries within it a desire for something pure and innocent," Dr. Tran Ngoc Hieu shared.

In the memory of Associate Professor Dr. Dao Duy Hiep - a student of Associate Professor Dang Thi Hanh, she was a disciplined and exemplary teacher, but also a compassionate person in her outlook and thoughts about life.

" She writes slowly, but engagingly. I like her memories of her childhood, her hometown, and the people, from street vendors to famous people. Those are really good pages of writing. Grandmother and Grandchild are memories of two childhood worlds separated by more than half a century, written in a humorous, lyrical style close to literary works," Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Duy Hiep expressed.
