Associate Professor Dr. Le Van Thang has been appointed Rector of the International University.

The Director of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City has just signed a decision appointing the Rector of the International University.

According to a decision recently signed by the Director of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, Associate Professor Dr. Le Van Thang has been appointed as the Rector of the International University. The term of office is 5 years, effective from June 1, 2026.

In mid-January 2024, Mr. Thang was elected Rector by the Board of Trustees of the International University. The Director of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City issued a decision appointing Associate Professor Dr. Le Van Thang to the position of Rector of this International University at the end of January 2024.

Associate Professor Dr. Le Van Thang is an expert in the field of materials technology. Born in 1979, he graduated with a degree in petrochemical engineering in 2002 from the University of Technology (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City).

He earned his PhD in materials science and technology from the CEA Center and the INP Grenoble Institute (Republic of France), and was appointed associate professor in 2015.

Mr. Thang previously served as Vice Rector of the University of Technology (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) before being transferred to the International University.

While working at the University of Technology, Mr. Thang served as Head of the Key Laboratory of Materials Technology at the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Materials Technology, Head of the Science and Technology and Projects Department, etc.
