Having beaten a host of strong opponents, Inter Milan and PSG deserve to be in the Champions League final (2am on June 1) at the Allianz Arena (Munich, Germany). Inter have a chance to be crowned champions for the first time since 2010. Meanwhile, PSG are aiming to become the “king” of this tournament for the first time.

Before this match, the two coaches Simone Inzaghi (Inter Milan) and Luis Enrique (PSG) were both determined to win the Champions League.

Speaking to the press, coach Inzaghi said: "We suffered defeat in the 2023 Champions League final (against Man City) but the whole team has no obsession. Instead, we are highly focused and determined to win the championship this season. I see the desire of the players over the years.

“The mentality is very important. We know how to prepare for this match. Inter have many European and world champions in their squad. Their experience can make the difference.”

The Italian coach also appreciated PSG but he affirmed that Inter knew how to aim for victory. He added: “To beat PSG, we need to have a strong playing style, clear tactics. Besides, Inter also need a few other factors.

PSG are a strong team. They deserve to be in the Champions League final. They have a strong squad and a great coach. We respect our opponents but know how to beat them. Overall, the team members think positively. I am satisfied with the team's journey this season. We will prove that we deserve to be in the final."

On the other side of the front line, coach Luis Enrique also affirmed his great determination: “We are used to playing in finals. PSG also experienced the Champions League final (in 2020). Mental preparation is very important but we are used to it.

We have prepared carefully for the final match against Inter. The remaining task is how the players deploy their play."

Assessing his opponents Inter, the Spaniard said: “We need to change when playing against a team with two strikers, especially in the pressing phase. Inter’s flexibility can cause us a lot of difficulties. The whole team needs to be very careful. Although I will not change the overall style of play, I will make a few adjustments.

We are under less pressure than Inter. Our journey was very difficult from the start. That became an advantage. The whole team is used to life-and-death matches. Since the defeat to Bayern Munich (also at the Allianz Arena), PSG have been going through life-and-death matches that are no different from finals. We are not afraid going into this match."

In the past, Inter and PSG have not faced each other in official matches. The two teams have only met in 5 friendly matches. As a result, PSG won 3, drew 1, and lost 1 to Inter.
