(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of February 1, at Chu Van An Secondary School, the Department of Information and Communications in coordination with the Department of Education and Training, Hai Phong City Youth Union, and Hai Phong City Post Office organized a conference to summarize the 52nd UPU International Letter Writing Competition (2023); launch the 53rd UPU International Letter Writing Competition (2024) and the City-level Team Theme: "Spring lifts your dreams".

Attending the Conference were leaders of the Department of Information and Communications, Department of Education and Training, Hai Phong City Youth Union, Ngo Quyen District People's Committee, Hai Phong City Post Office; collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the UPU International Letter Writing Competition 2023.
Speaking at the Conference, Director of the Department of Information and Communications Pham Van Tuan said: Every year, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) selects a prominent issue, a global and humane issue to be the Theme of the Contest. Therefore, participating in the Contest will contribute to developing students' writing skills and enriching their creative thinking. Thereby helping them approach and perceive social and contemporary issues and express their thoughts on practical issues in their own lives and their families; fostering and nurturing the feelings and responsibilities of the young generation towards society, the country and the world ; helping them understand more about the role of the Postal sector in life and social development.

In 2023, Hai Phong city has 01 national Second Prize belonging to Dang Minh Hang, student of class 9D12, Chu Van An Secondary School, Ngo Quyen district; 01 national Third Prize belonging to Do Minh Phuong, student of class 9D12, Chu Van An Secondary School, Ngo Quyen district and 01 student winning the Encouragement Prize of the 52nd UPU International Letter Writing Competition (2023) is Nguyen Quang Minh, former student of class 8B10, Ngo Quyen Secondary School, Le Chan district . Regarding the collective prize, Chu Van An Secondary School, Ngo Quyen district won the Second Prize and the Third Prize.

The theme of the 53rd UPU International Letter Writing Competition is: “Over the past 150 years, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) has served more than eight generations of people around the world. Since then, the world has changed a lot. Write a letter to future generations to tell them about the world you hope they will inherit.” Through the Contest, students will have a deeper understanding of the 150-year history of the establishment of the Universal Postal Union (1874 - 2024); hope that they will understand more about the UPU organization and honor the mission of serving the people and the valuable connection of the Universal Postal Union with the development of humanity.

At the Conference, Hai Phong City Post Office presented 15 gifts to Hai Phong students who overcame difficulties to study well; Hai Phong City Youth Union presented 10 gifts from Hai Phong City Youth Union to outstanding students of Chu Van An Secondary School; Ngo Quyen District Youth Union and the Board of Directors of Chu Van An Secondary School presented 25 gifts to students who overcame difficulties at Chu Van An Secondary School.
