Musician Phan Huynh Dieu (November 11, 1924 - June 29, 2015) was born and raised in Da Nang city, and is one of the representative musicians of 20th century Vietnamese music .

He started his musical career in the 1940s. After the success of the August Revolution, on September 2, 1945, at the historic Ba Dinh Square, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, which became an unforgettable memory for every Vietnamese person.

Those sacred moments were recorded by many musicians in revolutionary songs, becoming songs that go through the years, living forever in the history of the nation, including the song "National Defense Corps" by musician Phan Huynh Dieu.

The song is like a flame of patriotism, inspiring the fighting spirit and protection of the Fatherland of the Vietnamese army and people.
