The Kim Ngan Forest Ranger Station then handed over the two rare birds to the Wildlife Rescue, Conservation and Development Center of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park for rescue and care. Their health is currently normal.
The brown hornbill, scientifically known as Anorrhinus austeni (belonging to the Hornbill family), is listed in category IB as an endangered and rare forest animal. It belongs to the hornbill family and possesses brown plumage. Its primary habitat is evergreen broadleaf forests and secondary forests.
