Authorities have successfully searched, discovered and salvaged the first half of the bomb that survived the war in the Da River. The bomb was found about 100m from Hoa Binh Bridge and at a depth of nearly 1m when the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant adjusted its production to reduce the water level in the downstream area.
This is a very powerful bomb, with a shrapnel radius of up to hundreds of meters. Inside the bomb contains hundreds of kilograms of TNT. The salvaged bomb still has the fuse intact and the explosive weighs about 100 kilograms.
The remaining amount of explosives, if exploded, will directly affect the safety of Hoa Binh Bridge, Dung Bridge and surrounding structures, causing insecurity for people and vehicles when passing on bridges and structures.

In addition, the task force also discovered, salvaged, and recovered 112 explosives and bombs left over from the war in the Da River area, located not far from the safe zone of the Hoa Binh Hydroelectric Plant (located across and above Dung stream).
