In early September, many tourists from provinces and cities such as Hanoi , Quang Ninh, Hai Phong… do not hesitate to travel hundreds of kilometers to Son La to admire the purple Sim Thai (Thai season) flower hills blooming, beautiful as a painting.

This Thai sim flower hill is located in Suoi Bon village (Van Ho commune, Son La province), about 25km from Moc Chau tourist center and about 180km from Hanoi, equivalent to 4 hours by car.

Mr. Dinh Ngoc Huy's family (Hanoi) just had a 2-day, 1-night camping trip at Suoi Bon, combining hunting for the scenery of floating clouds on the dreamy purple flower hill on September 6-7.

"This was a completely spontaneous trip. On Saturday morning, my husband and I happened to watch a video about the purple flower hills near Moc Chau. Seeing the beautiful scenery, we decided to drive to admire it.

After 4 hours of traveling, we reached the hill and set up camp to stay overnight," said Mr. Huy.

When they arrived, Huy and his wife were overwhelmed by the sight of purple flowers blooming on the vast hillsides, under the blue sky, with winding terraced fields and rolling mountains in the distance. The fresh, cool air and poetic scenery made them forget all the fatigue of the long journey.

"We camped on the hill next to it, which had a view of the flower hill. In the evening, the whole family gathered to cook. Early the next morning, we woke up to watch the sunrise and the floating clouds," Huy shared.

Mr. Quang Kien - a young tourist and photographer in Moc Chau - said that Thai sim flowers in Suoi Bon usually bloom twice a year: early summer (April) and early fall (September).

Each blooming season lasts 3-4 weeks (depending on weather conditions each year), visitors can proactively arrange their schedule to visit and experience.

According to Mr. Kien, the ideal time to take beautiful photos at the Thai sim flower hill is early morning (6am-9am) and late afternoon (3pm-5pm). At that time, the weather is cool and pleasant, the sunlight is gentle yellow, creating favorable conditions for visitors to check-in, participate in outdoor activities as well as further enhancing the brilliant purple color of the flowers.

Ms. Do Thi Nhu Quynh (Moc Chau, Son La) also just came to the Thai sim hill in Suoi Bon to take photos. Having watched the sunset here before, this time, Ms. Quynh chose to arrive at 5:30 am, waiting for the sunrise at 5:40-6 am.

"This area currently has no accommodation or food services, but the landscape is very beautiful and pristine, giving visitors a feeling of relaxation and being in harmony with nature. Visitors can stay in Moc Chau and come here to sightsee and check-in. The distance is 23-25km," said Ms. Quynh.

To avoid the feeling of monotony, visitors can combine the use of some simple accessories to make the photo more vivid such as transparent umbrellas, headphones, coffee tables...

Because it is located at an altitude of 800-1,000m above sea level, this Thai sim hill area has a fresh, cool atmosphere. In summer, the temperature here is only about 20-24°C, so visitors can comfortably play and take pictures without worrying about the heat.
