In the first time the two players faced each other, Jannik Sinner showed his superior class, completely controlled the game and extended his unbeaten streak on indoor hard courts on the ATP Tour to 22 matches.
In the first game, Bergs struggled to save four break points but still could not avoid losing his serve. The Italian took advantage early to close out the first set, before gaining another break early in the second set, creating a turning point that helped him win quickly after 88 minutes of play.

Sinner played extremely solidly in his serve, did not face any break points and won 77% of points from his first serve (24/31).
This victory takes the world number 2 player into the third round, where he will face Francisco Cerundolo – who just defeated Miomir Kecmanovic 7-5, 1-6, 7-6(4).
If he continues to be crowned in Paris, Sinner will officially surpass Carlos Alcaraz to regain the world number 1 position.

“I felt very comfortable. This surface has been a problem for me in the past, but today everything was fine. I served well and felt more confident after the first break,” Sinner said.
