Jannik Sinner continued his impressive run of form with a comfortable 6-4, 6-2 win over Zizou Bergs in the second round of the Paris Masters. The victory came just four days after the Italian won his 22nd consecutive match on indoor hard courts in Vienna.
The No. 2 seed put in a complete performance at La Defense Arena, not facing a single break point and winning 77% (24/31) of his first-serve points. Sinner quickly broke in the opening games of both sets, giving him a decisive advantage over his Belgian opponent in the first meeting between the two players.

“I felt like I hit a lot of good shots. It was a very unique court. Usually I struggle a little bit, so I was happy to get through the first game. I was very happy with my serve today. I was very accurate, and I started with a break right away, which gave me a little bit of confidence. I was very happy with my performance today,” Sinner said after the 88-minute match.
With this victory, Sinner continues to hope to capitalize on Carlos Alcaraz's early defeat in Paris to compete for the world number one spot. The Italian can return to the top of the ATP rankings next Monday if he wins his first Masters 1000 title of the season.
Sinner's next opponent in the third round will be Francisco Cerundolo, who defeated Miomir Kecmanovic 7-5, 1-6, 7-6(4).
Elsewhere, Valentin Vacherot extended his Masters 1000 winning streak to nine by beating his cousin Arthur Rinderknech in a thrilling three-setter. The Monaco player moved up three places to No. 37 in the ATP Live rankings and will face Cameron Norrie, who eliminated Alcaraz, for a place in the quarter-finals.
Daniil Medvedev also advanced to the quarter-finals after his second-round opponent, Grigor Dimitrov, was forced to withdraw before the match due to a right shoulder injury.
