Luffy is the first son of midfielder Tran Dinh Trong and WAGs Huyen Trang (Trang Heo) - one of the most beloved couples in Vietnamese football. The two got married in September 2023 after 9 years together, building a happy home with two adorable children, Luffy and Nami.

At the beginning of the 2024/25 season, Dinh Trong officially joined CAHN after a period of playing for Binh Dinh.
