On the afternoon of July 17, Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to review the activities of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VH-TT-DL) and implement a number of key tasks for the last 6 months of 2025.

After the merger, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism with 8 affiliated units currently has 696 people, including 7 Board of Directors; 577 civil servants and public employees; 112 contract employees. The Provincial People's Committee arranged the working headquarters including the headquarters of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (old) and the Departmentof Education and Training (old).
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism focuses on reviewing the policy mechanisms; existing projects, plans and programs of the three provinces that have been previously issued and are still in effect to advise on adjustments, amendments or replacements, and new issuances to suit the current situation. It is expected to organize a number of activities to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2; a discussion on the topic of Net Zero tourism ; building a set of criteria for Vinh Long green tourism; hosting the National Health and Gala Championships...
At the meeting, departments and units under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism presented advantages and difficulties and proposed directions for the coming time. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposed that the Provincial People's Committee soon approve the policy of handing over the old Department of Information and Communications headquarters to serve as the working headquarters of the Vinh Long Relic Management Board; direct the Department of Finance to allocate funds to purchase facilities and equipment for some rooms that are still lacking; arrange accommodation for officials, civil servants and public employees to work with peace of mind...
Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to quickly stabilize the work of cadres, assign specific tasks; organize training courses to improve professional skills, train in related fields, encourage learning and exchange between units; urgently review specific policies to issue new policies to meet development requirements in the new situation. Besides, it is necessary to preserve and enhance cultural values with local identity; effectively utilize resources. Strengthen coordination with relevant departments and branches; strengthen communication; apply information technology to promote local potential and advantages.
