Promoting the core role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at the grassroots level.

Over the years, the Fatherland Front at the grassroots level has done a good job of disseminating information and mobilizing the people to strictly abide by the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws, contributing to the fulfillment of political tasks in the locality.

Muong Khuong is a border commune of the province, formed by the merger of five communes and towns from the former Muong Khuong district. The commune has 5,173 households with 24,433 inhabitants, comprising 16 ethnic groups living together in 53 villages; the percentage of poor and near-poor households is nearly 54.5%.

The Fatherland Front Committee of Muong Khuong commune coordinated with other forces to assist people in building houses.

Through a review, the need for assistance in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses throughout the commune was identified as 1,207 households. With the spirit of "Leaving no one behind," Muong Khuong commune launched a campaign called "90 days and nights to eliminate temporary houses." Based on this, the Fatherland Front and other political and social organizations held meetings to develop specific, creative, and appropriate solutions.

However, the implementation process faced numerous difficulties: some households were in difficult circumstances and lacked the financial means to build houses; a few still harbored a mentality of waiting for and relying on state support; there was a shortage of construction workers; the price of building materials was high due to long transportation distances and disrupted roads as a result of the aftermath of typhoon No. 3; and there were elderly, single, and sick households.

To gradually overcome the difficulties, the Fatherland Front Committee of the commune has developed a specific plan for implementation.

Ms. Trang Minh Hoa, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Muong Khuong commune, shared: The Fatherland Front Committee of the commune has intensified propaganda and mobilization efforts to support households in building houses, especially those in difficult circumstances, those with few family members, and those lacking labor.

First, the Fatherland Front of the commune mobilizes and encourages village officials, youth union secretaries, association secretaries, village elders, village heads, and influential people in the community to take the lead in starting the construction of houses first, so that union members, association members, and the people can follow suit.

The Fatherland Front and other mass organizations mobilized forces to provide nearly 3,000 man-days of support to members, union members, single-parent households, and households in difficult circumstances, helping them transport materials and reduce costs with the spirit of "everyone helps in whatever way they can."

In addition, the Fatherland Front of the commune also coordinated with the local government to mobilize officials, civil servants, employees, businesses, philanthropists, Party members, Youth Union members, association members, and the people in the area to support the Fund for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in the area.

As a result, over 276 billion VND and 1,624 tons of cement were mobilized to support 812 households in repairing and rebuilding their homes. To date, 100% of temporary and dilapidated houses in the area have been eliminated.

With the involvement of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, and the consensus of the people, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Muong Khuong commune has been completed.

With the determined and decisive leadership of the Party Committee and the Steering Committee of the commune, the involvement of the Fatherland Front and other political and social organizations, and the consensus of the people, the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the commune has achieved its planned goals. Families who have completed the construction or repair of their houses expressed joy and gratitude for the attention of the Party, the State, the province, and the commune, and are determined to strive to improve their quality of life.

Mr. Hoang Cha Di, from Thinh Cheng village, happily shared: "My wife and I are both over 70 years old and unable to work. Thanks to the support from the Fatherland Front of the commune, which mobilized various forces to help us build a house that meets the three essential structural requirements, I am very grateful."

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Van Phu Ward also clearly identifies propaganda and mobilization work as an important political task, directly contributing to creating social consensus and strengthening the people's trust in the leadership of the Party and the administration of the government.

Immediately after the Party's directives and resolutions were issued, the Ward Fatherland Front promptly developed a plan to implement and disseminate them to all cadres, Party members, and the people. Propaganda work was carried out through various forms, such as: through the public address system, Party branch meetings, neighborhood meetings, conferences, cultural and artistic activities, social media, etc. Through these efforts, the Party's resolutions were put into practice, creating a clear transformation in the awareness and actions of cadres, Party members, and the people in the area.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Doi, Head of Binh Luc residential group, Van Phu ward, said: “The Fatherland Front of Van Phu ward always focuses on disseminating information about the common interests of the community and society during the implementation of projects. As a result, people understand, agree with, and support the local government's work, especially in land clearance for key projects and works.”

With the active involvement of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and other organizations in propaganda and mobilization efforts, the following projects have been completed in Van Phu ward: the Luong Thinh village residential land fund project has completed land clearance and auction; the Nguyen Tat Thanh to Au Co road project has completed land clearance and handed over resettlement to 76 out of 99 households; and the 110kw power line project is basically completed… These efforts have contributed to the development of Van Phu ward.

In the coming period, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province will continue to uphold the tradition of solidarity, creativity, proactiveness, and pioneering spirit, innovating the content and methods of organizing patriotic emulation movements in a substantive and effective manner. At the same time, it will widely and effectively implement emulation movements and campaigns with clear objectives and practical content, linked to specific projects and tasks; focusing strongly on the grassroots, being close to reality, especially in remote areas and areas inhabited by ethnic minorities, ensuring that all movements originate from real-life situations, are closely connected to the daily lives of the people, and contribute to building a more developed Lao Cai province.
