Ban May commune was established by merging three communes: Chien Pho, Ban Phung, and Ban May. Following the merger, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune and other political and social organizations were restructured, ensuring organizational structure and personnel, maintaining stable operations, and meeting the requirements of the new phase. Propaganda and mobilization efforts among the people were strengthened, contributing to consolidating trust and creating consensus in implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws.
One of the highlights is the effective implementation of the "Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses" movement. With the decisive involvement of the entire political system and the consensus of the people, the commune has supported the construction and repair of 371 houses (339 new houses and 32 repaired houses). Outstanding models have been implemented in various fields such as: the blood plum tree model in Nhiu Sang and Sui Thau villages; the fragrant plowing model in Doan Ket village; the duck farming model in Ban Phung area; the commercial black pig farming model in Ban May village; the red dragon fruit cultivation model, etc. 22 mediation groups, self-governing groups, and clan self-governing groups have been established and strengthened, contributing to maintaining political security and order in the commune.
