Free cataract surgery for 500 cases.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City has agreed in principle to coordinate the organization of a free cataract examination and surgery program for disadvantaged people in the area, as proposed by the Da Nang Hometown Association in Ho Chi Minh City.

Accordingly, the program supports 500 patients, including 200 cases in the former Da Nang area and 300 cases in the former Quang Nam area.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City assigned the Department of Health to take the lead and coordinate with the Da Nang Hometown Association in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Association for the Support of Poor Patients, the Trung Vuong Eye Center, and other relevant agencies, units, and localities to organize and implement the above-mentioned program. At the same time, it requested ensuring safe and effective examination and surgery; guiding localities to review and compile lists of eligible patients, prioritizing policy beneficiary families, poor households, and near-poor households.
