The Council considered and approved the coal reserves at Trang Bach coal mine in Hoang Que and Binh Khe wards, Tay Khe Sim coal mine in Quang Hanh and Mong Duong wards, Quang Ninh province and limestone reserves as raw materials for industrial lime production in Kien Khe town and Thanh Thuy commune, Thanh Liem district, Ha Nam province (now Chau Son ward and Tan Thanh commune, Ninh Binh province).

Representative of the unit conducting the Trang Bach mine exploration report, Mr. Vu Anh Tuan - Head of Geology Department, Information Technology, Environment Joint Stock Company - Vinacomin said: TKV has completed the additional exploration work, with the goal of upgrading the level 333 resource blocks (estimated resources) within the scope of the granted Mining License.
The construction volume includes 1,508.4m of machine drilling/7 boreholes, more than 1,500m of geophysical measurements, and hundreds of gas, coal, and rock mechanical samples analyzed. The consulting unit used a synthesis of data from more than 480 boreholes from previous phases.

Regarding the Tay Khe Sim coal mine in Quang Hanh and Mong Duong wards, Quang Ninh province, Mr. Do Xuan Kien - Viet Bac Geological Joint Stock Company - TKV said that the unit has constructed 11 boreholes with a total length of 1,914.5m, updated the mine's geological structure to the present time, clarified the characteristics of the coal seam, coal quality and geological - technical conditions.

“Calculation results show that the upgraded reserves reach 1.074 million tons. This is an important basis for continuing to organize safe and effective exploitation within the scope of the granted Exploitation License,” Mr. Kien added.

The National Mineral Reserves Assessment Council has unanimously approved many important reserves. Specifically, at Trang Bach coal mine, the upgraded reserves reached 22.747 million tons; at Tay Khe Sim coal mine, the level 122 reserves were upgraded from level 333 resources to reach 1.074 million tons; at the same time, limestone reserves for industrial lime production in Chau Son ward and Tan Thanh commune (Ninh Binh province) were considered.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Quy Kien assessed these as important results, serving as a basis for the design and planning of the coal industry's development in the next phase, while ensuring compliance with regulations on resource decentralization and mineral reserves.
