The Council reviewed and approved the coal reserves at the Trang Bach coal mine, located in Hoang Que and Binh Khe wards, the Tay Khe Sim coal mine, located in Quang Hanh and Mong Duong wards, Quang Ninh province, and the limestone reserves for industrial lime production in the Kien Khe town and Thanh Thuy commune, Thanh Liem district, Ha Nam province (now Chau Son ward and Tan Thanh commune, Ninh Binh province).

Speaking on behalf of the unit that conducted the Trang Bach mine exploration report, Mr. Vu Anh Tuan - Head of the Geology Department, Information Technology, Environment Joint Stock Company - Vinacomin, said: TKV has completed supplementary exploration work, with the goal of upgrading the resource blocks to level 333 (estimated resources) within the scope of the granted mining license.
The scope of work included 1,508.4 meters of machine drilling/7 boreholes, over 1,500 meters of geophysical surveys, and the analysis of hundreds of gas, coal, and rock mechanical samples. The consulting unit utilized aggregated data from over 480 boreholes from previous phases.

Regarding the Tay Khe Sim coal mine located in Quang Hanh and Mong Duong wards, Quang Ninh province, Mr. Do Xuan Kien of Viet Bac Geological Joint Stock Company - TKV stated that the unit has drilled 11 boreholes with a total length of 1,914.5m, updating the mine's geological structure to the present time, clarifying the characteristics of the coal seam, coal quality, and geological-technical conditions.

"The calculation results show that the upgraded reserves have reached 1.074 million tons. This is an important basis for continuing to organize safe and efficient exploitation within the scope of the granted mining license," Mr. Kien added.

The National Mineral Reserve Assessment Council has unanimously approved several important reserve blocks. Specifically, at the Trang Bach coal mine, the upgraded reserves reached 22.747 million tons; at the Tay Khe Sim coal mine, the reserves were upgraded from level 333 to level 122, reaching 1.074 million tons; and the limestone reserves for industrial lime production in Chau Son ward and Tan Thanh commune (Ninh Binh province) were also considered.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Quy Kien assessed these as important results, providing a basis for the design of mining operations and the planning of coal industry development in the next phase, while ensuring compliance with regulations on resource classification and mineral reserves.
