(HG) - The provincial Department of Construction has just coordinated with the Institute of Construction Economics - Ministry of Construction to organize a workshop to disseminate Building Information Modeling (BIM) in the province.
Mr. Tran Manh Ha, Director of the Southern Institute of Construction Economics shared at the workshop.
BIM is understood as "the use of advances in information technology to digitize construction information through three-dimensional (3D) spatial models to support the design, construction, and operation management processes of the project".
The application of building information models and digital technology solutions in construction activities is stipulated in Article 6 of Decree No. 15/2021/ND-CP dated March 3, 2021 of the Government. According to the roadmap for applying Building Information Modeling (BIM) in construction activities approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 258/QD-TTg dated March 17, 2023. According to the list of priority investment programs and projects in Hau Giang province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 in Appendix XXIV attached to Decision No. 1588/QD-TTg dated December 8, 2023 of the Prime Minister approving the Planning of Hau Giang province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, it is expected that there will be a number of projects subject to mandatory BIM application according to the roadmap approved by the Prime Minister.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Nghia, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction, spoke at the workshop.
At the workshop, experts from the Southern Institute of Construction Economics shared an overview of Building Information Modeling (BIM); policies and guidelines for applying BIM in our country; BIM application to support appraisal work; integration of BIM and GIS for planning management and smart city construction; experience in applying BIM in projects implemented in recent times; application of common data environment in information management in BIM-applied projects.

The workshop aims to disseminate and raise awareness of BIM for individuals and relevant units in the province so that BIM can be effectively applied in the near future in accordance with the roadmap set out by the Government.
