Faced with the complicated situation of landslides in Pa Vay Su commune, on the afternoon of October 15, a working delegation of the Provincial People's Committee led by Mr. Hoang Gia Long, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, directly inspected the affected area in Then Van village.

According to the report, due to the impact of prolonged heavy rains during the 2024-2025 rainy season, the Then Van village area is currently experiencing serious landslides and cracks in the ground, posing a risk of causing great damage to the safety and property of the State and people.

Actual inspection showed that 17 households were directly affected; the entire area of ​​Pa Vay Su Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities had subsidence, cracked foundations, and damaged restrooms; the average subsidence was 30-80 cm, posing a danger to more than 180 students and teachers teaching there. Pa Vay Su Kindergarten is located in an area where landslides frequently occur, Pa Vay Su commune has directed the school to temporarily suspend operations and move to the commune's old headquarters.

At the meeting with the leaders of Pa Vay Su commune, Mr. Hoang Gia Long, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, assessed that the landslide situation in Pa Vay Su commune was very complicated, beyond the commune's ability to handle. He requested the Commune People's Committee to urgently coordinate with relevant departments and agencies to monitor and warn of risks, ensuring absolute safety for teachers, students and people in areas at risk of landslides.

He also requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with the commune and relevant agencies to complete the dossier and report, and advise the Provincial People's Committee to propose declaring a state of emergency for 17 households and Pa Vay Su Primary Boarding School; request the Pa Vay Su Commune People's Committee to temporarily move 2 school units (Primary School and Kindergarten) to a safe place, and instruct households to proactively move out of their homes when it rains.
