Dong Thap: Water level on Tien River rises rapidly causing flooding

On October 16, the Dong Thap Province Hydrometeorological Station said that water levels at most stations on the Tien River were rising rapidly. As of 7:00 a.m. on October 16, the highest water levels measured at Cao Lanh and My Tho stations were from alert level II to alert level III.

It is forecasted that in the Southwest and downstream areas of the Tien River, water levels at stations will continue to rise in the coming days following the high tides of early September and reach high levels. The highest peak tide is likely to occur on October 21 to 23 (September 1 to 3 of the lunar calendar), at a level above level III warning, from 25 to 35 cm, with the greatest depth of flooding from 0.5 to 1 m. The warning level for natural disaster risks due to floods is level II.
