Hop Thinh Commune is one of the localities along the Cau River that suffered heavy damage due to the recent floods. The whole commune has 3/40 villages completely isolated; 6 villages partially isolated. Floods affected more than 1,600 households with more than 6,000 people. Hundreds of people had to be urgently evacuated to temporary shelters; students of all levels had to temporarily stop going to school. By October 16, the villages were no longer flooded, and children were excited to return to school. Heavy rains and historic floods caused severe damage to many villages in Tien Luc commune. About 900 hectares of rice, crops, and fruit trees were flooded; many traffic routes were cut off; thousands of households had to be evacuated to safe places...
