Thai Nguyen Farmers' Association: Joining hands to overcome the consequences of natural disasters

Faced with the severe damage caused by storm No. 11, the Farmers' Association of Thai Nguyen province quickly deployed practical activities, mobilizing the combined strength of cadres, members, farmers, organizations and individuals, joining hands to support people to overcome the consequences and stabilize their lives.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial Farmers' Association directed farmers' associations at all levels to step up propaganda, mobilization, and call on cadres, members, and farmers to actively participate in activities to support people in areas affected by storms and floods.

The Provincial Farmers’ Association has organized many direct activities in areas that have suffered heavy damage. Officials and farmer members have participated in volunteer teams, support groups, and shock troops, closely coordinating with functional forces; focusing on direct support such as distributing food, provisions, and necessities.

At the same time, the volunteer force also actively cleaned up the environment, reinforced and rebuilt damaged houses, repaired livestock barns and supported the harvesting of affected crops, helping people reduce their burden and quickly restore production.

As of October 13, 2025, the Provincial Farmers' Association has distributed nearly 3 tons of necessities, supplies, and relief equipment to flood victims in the communes of Cam Giang, Vinh Thong, Phu Thong, and Tran Phu.

In addition to the internal contributions of cadres and members, the Provincial Farmers' Association has proactively coordinated with local authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and member organizations to grasp the damage situation, thereby calling on and mobilizing agencies, organizations and individuals inside and outside the province to join hands in supporting funds, clothes, medicine, clean water, living supplies... Cooperating with Vietnam Electricity University to mobilize over 300 technicians and students to check, repair and replace motorbike parts and electrical equipment damaged by flooding in the wards of Gia Sang, Phan Dinh Phung and Linh Son.

Many units have actively coordinated with the Provincial Farmers' Association to carry out practical relief activities, such as: Nong thon ngay nay Newspaper donated 700 "Support Boxes" containing essential items to people severely affected by floods (total value of nearly 350 million VND). Minh Hoa Investment Joint Stock Company (Minh Hoa Faucet) - Hanoi city - donated 500 gifts including necessities, clean water and 500,000 VND in cash to 500 farmer members...

The Provincial Farmers' Association also coordinated with the Provincial Red Cross to deliver relief goods including: 320 boxes of instant noodles; 270 boxes of Milo milk; 1,500 blankets, mosquito nets, 350 kg of rice, 8 boxes of laundry detergent... to people in affected areas.

The Association coordinated with the Volunteer Team and people of Doai Phuong commune, Hanoi city, to present 700 gifts, 1 ton of rice and 13 million VND to support 65 households (200,000 VND/household) in Nghinh Tuong, Dan Tien and La Hien communes.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Diep, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association, shared: Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, the Association identified the key task as quickly delivering relief goods to the people, and at the same time organizing forces to support people in cleaning up and repairing houses and barns to soon stabilize their lives. The numbers of items and cash given away are not only material support but also a great source of spiritual encouragement, demonstrating the deep concern of the community, agencies, units, businesses and philanthropists for farmers in times of trouble.

In the coming time, the Association will continue to direct farmers' associations at all levels to coordinate with local authorities to deploy long-term support solutions to help people restore production and stabilize their lives after the flood; especially focusing on supporting plant and animal varieties and providing technical guidance to restore agricultural production.
