Although the flood has been over for more than two weeks, the water on Chut stream is still flowing rapidly, causing difficulty in traveling for nearly 40 households living on the other side of the stream.
Every day, to reach the village road, households have to wade across the stream. Because the stream is wide, traveling is very inconvenient and poses many potential safety risks, especially for nearly 30 school-age children. On many days of heavy rain, the stream water rises, many students have to stay home from school, and 35 households are isolated.

Faced with that situation, the People's Committee of Van Ban commune mobilized machines and people to build two temporary bridges across the stream. The bridge locations were surveyed and selected at places with old bridge piers or at narrow, shallow streambeds. The temporary bridges initially met the needs of people traveling by motorbike and walking, especially students, to school more safely.
Mr. Ha Van Van, a resident of Lang Chut village, Van Ban commune, shared: Although these are only two temporary bridges, we are very excited because we will no longer have to wade through streams. Traveling for people and students in the village will be more convenient and safer. However, because these are temporary bridges, we will always have to be vigilant and not cross the bridge when there is heavy rain to prevent unforeseen events.

Building a temporary bridge is only a temporary solution. Due to its rudimentary structure, Van Ban commune recommends that people do not cross the bridge during storms to ensure safety. In the long term, the locality has recommended that superiors pay attention to investing in building a solid bridge to ensure the travel and trade needs of the people.
