On the afternoon of July 8, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien chaired a working session with the Department of Agriculture and Environment on the results of implementing key tasks in the first 6 months of the year and the implementation plan for the last 6 months of 2025.

Reporting on the results of implementing tasks in the first 6 months of 2025, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Ho Trong Phuong said that under the direction of leaders at all levels, along with the efforts of the whole industry, the agriculture, forestry, fishery and environmental protection sectors have achieved many positive results. As of June 30, 2025, the total production value of the whole industry is estimated at more than 12,900 billion VND, up 3.24% over the same period; of which, agriculture increased by 2.31%, forestry increased by 7.45% and fishery increased by 4.07%. Food output reached more than 305,000 tons, reaching 98.9% over the same period and 52% of the yearly plan. The whole province has more than 161 hectares of crops meeting VietGAP standards, many production models applying high technology help increase productivity, reduce costs and increase income for farmers.

The fisheries sector continued to flourish with an output of over 152,200 tons; the farming area reached 182.5% of the plan, and the harvested output was over 8,010 tons. In forestry, the total forest area of ​​the province reached over 948,900 hectares, with a forest cover rate of nearly 60%.

The whole province has 642 valid OCOP products, of which 2 products have achieved 5-star OCOP, 48 products have achieved 4-star and 592 products have achieved 3-star. As of June 30, 2025, the whole province has 149 communes meeting new rural standards, accounting for 65.06%, along with 22 communes meeting advanced new rural standards and 4 communes meeting model new rural standards.

State management of land continues to be strengthened. The issuance of certificates of land use rights, house ownership rights and other assets attached to land is accelerated, contributing to stabilizing the land use situation. The work of establishing, appraising and approving land use planning and plans is focused on, gradually becoming systematic, ensuring compliance with the local socio -economic development orientation.

Mineral exploration and exploitation activities are more strictly controlled, inspection and examination work is strengthened to limit illegal exploitation and loss of resources. Control of pollution sources from production, business, service and daily life activities is strengthened. Many wastewater and waste treatment projects are invested and put into operation.

In his concluding remarks at the working session, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements, efforts and sense of responsibility of the collective leadership, civil servants and public employees of the Agriculture and Environment sector in implementing the assigned tasks in the past time, especially after the merger.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to continue reviewing all outstanding tasks, focusing on implementing key tasks in the last 6 months of 2025. At the same time, promote decentralization, delegation of authority, improve monitoring capacity for all levels according to regulations; strengthen the implementation of digital transformation, application of information technology, and processing work on the network environment in the whole industry, especially in the field of land management.

In addition, the Department of Agriculture and Environment needs to continue reviewing and perfecting the new rural criteria in communes that have met the standards; strive to build advanced new rural communes and model new rural communes suitable to the practical situation. Strictly control diseases on crops and livestock; implement vaccination fully, promptly and effectively.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to focus on developing and submitting to the Provincial People's Committee for approval the Land Use Plan; speed up the progress of building the land database in the province; urgently build a land price list to meet the requirements of management and local socio-economic development.
