Deputy Prime Minister shares touching story of 100,000 VND given to people on September 2nd

(Dan Tri) - According to the Government leader, 100,000 VND given to people on National Day is not much, but the people's actions are touching. Some people put it in plastic, some refused to give it to people in more difficult circumstances...

At the press conference on the morning of October 9 to inform about the 1st Government Party Congress, term 2025-2030, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh answered the press's question "What has the enabling government done for the people and businesses?".

Emphasizing the goal of socio -economic development so that people can have a more prosperous and happier life, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the resources spent on social security in recent times have been very large.

The evidence he gave was that recently, the Government spent 11,000 billion VND to give each citizen 100,000 VND on the occasion of National Day, September 2.

"In the current situation, 100,000 VND is not much for us, but the actions of the people move us. Some people laminate 100,000 VND bills to keep as souvenirs, some people collect the money given to the whole family to buy books for their children, those with a good income refuse to receive it to save it for those in more difficult circumstances, and there are also whole neighborhoods that contribute money to celebrate to unite the community," the Deputy Prime Minister shared touching stories from the policy of giving 100,000 VND to each citizen on National Day.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, in the past term, the Government has spent 180,000-200,000 billion VND/year (equivalent to 8% of the State budget) on social security. Of which, about 46,000 billion VND was spent on policy families, meritorious people and about 10,000-15,000 billion VND in flood relief.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister mentioned the successful organization of major events such as the Exhibition on the 80th anniversary of the journey of independence - freedom - happiness; the celebration of the 80th anniversary of National Day, the 50th anniversary of national reunification as well as the image of people regardless of sun or rain, many sleepless nights waiting for the event.

"The celebrations are to serve the people, but the people themselves also make the celebrations more majestic," the Deputy Prime Minister commented.

He also added that this October, the first 100 schools will be simultaneously started in the border communes on the mainland, in line with the Politburo's direction. "If we want to improve people's knowledge, we must start with going to school," according to the Deputy Prime Minister.

He affirmed that organizing lunches and exempting hospital fees according to the roadmap are policies with great impact that have been issued in recent times.

Or in the revolution of "reorganizing the country" with the first request to have a one-stop administrative center at the commune level, the Government leader said that these were requests made to serve the people better.

Notably, the Government has also issued a decree to restore Vietnamese nationality to overseas Vietnamese, addressing the reality that overseas Vietnamese have been waiting for 20 years now, "speaking Vietnamese, being from Vietnam but not being recognized as Vietnamese, having to apply for a visa every time they return to visit their homeland."
