Coordinate policy development to bring the Law on Water Resources into life

At the Conference, Minister Dang Quoc Khanh awarded Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment to 01 collective and 17 individuals who had outstanding achievements in preparing and building the Draft Law on Water Resources (amended) approved by the 15th National Assembly at the 6th Session.

Attending the Conference, on the side of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), there were comrade Dang Quoc Khanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of MONRE ; Deputy Minister Le Cong Thanh and key leaders of units under the MONRE.

On the side of the National Assembly's Committee on Science , Technology and Environment (S&T), there were comrade Le Quang Huy, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the S&T Committee; Vice Chairmen of the Committee: Nguyen Thi Le Thuy; Nguyen Phuong Tuan; Ta Dinh Thi and full-time members of the S&T Committee.

Speaking at the Conference, Chairman of the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment Le Quang Huy said that from the time of policy development to the specific institutionalization of the articles in the Law on Water Resources (amended), 865 days have passed, including 20 stages and 182 steps. Of which, the Government carried out 07 stages with 89 steps in about 551 days, while the National Assembly carried out 02 stages with 93 steps and in about 314 days, in which the efforts of specialized units and cadres working continuously and disciplined, regardless of time to get the best results and were highly appreciated, recognized and approved by the leaders of the National Assembly and National Assembly Deputies with a very high rate (94.74%), showing very close coordination between the two drafting agencies (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment) and the reviewing agency (Committee for Science, Technology and Environment).

In the coming time, in order for the Law to soon come into life, Chairman of the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment Le Quang Huy hopes that the leaders of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment will soon issue legal documents to organize the best implementation of the Law, while strengthening communication programs to make the community and society more aware. In addition, in the coming time, with many experiences and practical coordination between the two agencies, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment will continue to coordinate with the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment of the National Assembly to develop legal policies such as the National Marine Spatial Planning, the Law on Geology and Minerals, etc.

Minister Dang Quoc Khanh suggested that in the coming time, in addition to coordinating to promulgate policies on the Law on Water Resources (amended) to soon put into practice, the two agencies need to further strengthen close and effective coordination to promptly remove difficulties and complete tasks in building legal policies.

Highly agreeing with the opinions of the Chairman of the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment Le Quang Huy, Minister Dang Quoc Khanh said that the regular good coordination, with the spirit of seeking knowledge, has brought about remarkable results with very responsible products of the two agencies. Therefore, Minister Dang Quoc Khanh suggested that in the coming time, in addition to coordinating to promulgate policies for the Law on Water Resources (amended) to soon come into practice, the two agencies need to further strengthen close and effective coordination to both promptly remove difficulties and complete tasks in building legal policies.
