The drug law propaganda session was organized by the Provincial Police Youth Union in coordination with the Kien Giang Vocational College Youth Union. Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Huu Phuc - Secretary of the Youth Union of the Drug Police Department, Provincial Police, and propagandist said: “In recent years, the situation of drug crimes and drug abuse continues to be complicated, especially synthetic drugs and “new” drugs that appear more and more, infiltrating school life and society. The subjects who are lured and enticed are often teenagers - an age group that is easily influenced by invitations and enticements from bad people. Drugs not only destroy the health, spirit, and future of each individual, but are also the direct cause of other crimes, disrupting security and order, and causing many serious consequences”.

Therefore, drug prevention and control is not the sole responsibility of the police force but requires the strong participation of the whole society, in which union members, youth, students and pupils play a very important role.
The propaganda session not only provided legal knowledge and raised awareness of the harmful effects of drugs, but also helped union members and young people understand the sophisticated plots and tricks of those who buy, sell, transport and entice drug users today. From there, union members and young people can protect themselves and at the same time become active propagandists in the school community and their living place.

Lieutenant Colonel Truong Van Quoc - Head of the Provincial Police Youth Union said: “Recently, the Provincial Police Youth Union has organized many propaganda activities to prevent and combat social evils, especially drugs. The propaganda content on drug prevention and combat is integrated into programs and activities by distributing hand fans with QR codes printed on them. When people scan the QR code, they will learn about the set of documents on drug prevention and combat... Hopefully, each member and student will promote the spirit of volunteering, living beautifully, living usefully, knowing how to say “no” to drugs, condemning and promptly denouncing illegal acts related to drugs”.
At the program, union members and young people watched a skit performance, propagating the law on drug prevention and control, the harmful effects of drugs and electronic cigarettes among students. Danh Quoc Thanh - a student of Kien Giang Vocational College shared: “Through this practical propaganda session, we can recognize and stay away from all types of drugs. In addition, I also had the police officers answer my questions about the law and drugs in an easy-to-remember and specific way. We will continue to propagate to our friends and relatives to actively join hands in preventing and fighting drugs, not because of ignorance, curiosity or moments of weakness because of drugs that we lose our future”.
